Anybody know a good reputable dealer to buy this chainsaw from. I don't have a problem buying over the internet. Most of the prices seem better than any of the local areas around here.

Thanks,
Bruce

You can't purchase new Husqvarna pro saws (or any new Stihl saw for that matter) over the internet or in big box stores. There are some Husqvarna dealers who show their prices on the Internet and allow you to purchase, but you must pick up the saw at their store. If you are in the middle of nowhere (like no dealers for 100's of miles), then some dealers will accommodate you.

Up until a few years ago, you could purchase and have shipped that 372XP over the Internet.

Just had my XP delivered via a phone sale and big brown truck. Plenty of sellers out there for XP saws. Bought a 346xp from Alamia in Colorado and a 576xp from Kannapolis Power Equipment in North Carolina.

XT=XP xTorq. You have to call for pricing. A colleague of mine purchased a XP saw from Baileys a couple of years ago. So far as I know, they are still available.

Bailey's price is online, I am not sure if you can order them and have them shipped, or if you have to pick them up at their Woodland store. Here is the price and the number to call:

Husqvarna Model 372XT Chainsaw (71cc X-Torq) with 24" Bar & Chain
Our Woodland Retail Outlet Price: $879.95 -- This product is not available for purchase through our website. It must be purchased from our Woodland, California, Retail Outlet. For more information please call our specialists toll-free at 1-800-322-4539.

Was that a dealer on eBay who sold the NEW PROFESSIONAL saw or a private citizen who purchased a saw and sold it as new? I do recognize that there are Stihl and Husqvarna dealers that sell these restricted items there, but they're not supposed to do it.

Does Baileys still send out NEW Husqvarna PROFESSIOAL saws (XP models) on Internet orders? My understanding was that Husqvarna corporate put a stop to this practice a few years ago.

I got the same saw with 28" bar for $805 from Dave Power Equipment in Swansea Ma. If I went with a 20" bar the price was $775. You could also try Norfolk Power equipment in Wrentham Ma. which is 10 minutes from Foxboro Stadium.

Just used my 372 for the first time yesterday bucking a white oak and all I can say is Holy Chit.

Well, this certianly has me thinking about spending the extra bucks and going local. My luck, there would be some type of problem that makes the whole thing ugly. I will go up to Milford N.H and start there. At least there is no sales tax and it's about an hour away.

Thanks guys!

That is an online dealer on ebay who sells new xp professional saws. The XP saws arn't gold, you can get them from baileys and basically anywhere online if you want to go the a little bit cheaper route then buying local.

You might be surprised by a local dealer. My Husqvarna dealer will knock some $ off the shelf price withoug my asking. He did this even when I was a new customer.

I tried local and found there was about a 25% higher cost when our bloated 7% sales tax was added.

yah sales tax sucks, the joys of online shopping.... Tree pointer makes a good point though too.....I got mine from my local dealer. Was sub $750 out the door with 20in bar.

And you become a "customer" / will go out of way with service and help. My findings.

I bought my Scag from this place and some other stuff for the Kubota etc. They know my face. I'll see if they will cut me a deal. Bring up some internet pricing and see if they can get close. If anything is wrong with it from wherever I buy it, they will be doing the service. I just want to make sure I am buying from an authorized dealer. I will see if they offer contractor pricing also.

Margins are generally thin on new equipment so I wouldn't expect a dealer to work miracles on price or be able to go head to head with an internet sales price where the seller doesn't even have to unbox the saw.

Unless you are totally self-sufficient for obtaining your parts and service work, there's much more to buying equipment than total dollars spent. ;)

Chappell tractor in Milford, NH carries Husqvarna and Stihl products, plus anything else you might need.
