LONG ISLAND, NY
anyone know a good private austroflamm rika tech in long island ny, looking for a private tech that will take the time and service or clean and do it the right way not rush through like many companys do, knock on wood 2 years and no major issues but good to have a # in back pocket

In two years of burning, I haven't come across any pellet stove service person I would trust again with my stove. I had 3 different stove guys over when my stove was first installed and they all cut corners and didn't really know the finer specifications on my stove or the pellet pipe used for exhaust.

Sad to say, I have had to learn to do most of the work myself because I just don't trust any one to do it right. Worse yet, the 3 guys made matters worse.

Anyway, what I am trying to say is, learn your stove real well, keep it clean, and come here for technical support, trouble shooting, and pellet humor.

Good luck.

don't know if you are handy,
but it is not too difficult to take care of an integra insert.
I have my rika integra since 4 years and do everyting myself.
Would not let any of the so called pellet experts close to my stove.

when you do a full cleaning besides the heat exchanger, burn pot, chimney, ash tray, plates behind burn pot and the circular door behind the heat exhangers, do you remove any motors and clean them. have you done any major work on yours. i read that sometimes the circuit board goes

in all this years I did all the work myself.
Yes if I do a major cleaning, I do remove the exhaust fan motor, clean it carefully and vacuum the inside where the motor is mounted.
If you take the motor out, don't forget to order before a new gasket which goes in between the motor and the housing. It is always good to have a new gasket on
hand as they a brittle and break easily.
Very important - if you do any work on the inside of the pellet stove, unplug the power. I also recommend the use of a surge protector during operation of
stove, this way you should have less of an issue with the power board.

Yes i have the surge protector, where do you get teh gaskets and parts from do you buy online or local.

Originally, I tried to get the parts locally, but this did not work out at all.
So I had no other choice as to order them from the Internet, that means I called the Internet outfit, explained to them what stove I have and ordered the correct part.
Worked out perfectly. There are several online and I guess they are all good.

G'Day Mates!
I put my 1996 up for sale on Craigslist in prep of replacing with an Integra II. Are you two guys still happy with the performance of your units? The only reason I am giving my current one up is that my wife wants the self-starting feature. Hopefully the new units are as well built as the bullet-proof Tank it will be replacing.

Yes circuit boards do go as do Hi and Low limit switches, vacuum switches, fan motors, blowers, bushings bearings etc. But if you do get stuck there is a lot of help here to help you troubleshoot any particular issue and guide you through the process for you to repair.
