Now, everyone, cross your fingers and let's hope I get called first. Just sat down after work and took a look at the free section, sent reply 14 minutes after posting, Merry Christmas for someone! Hope it's me!

My husband passed away and I have 4 cords of seasoned oak for someone to pick it up for free.

It's all yours, just come and take it. I won't leave my number over a craigslist ad... so you must leave you phone number and I will call you up. I'm looking for someone with a trailer, that can take it all fast.
I'm not interested in someone with a small truck....takes too many trips...
thanks craigslist

Nice

We need pics!! or it didn't happen

I hope you get the call first!
That would be a sweet score!

Ya, we hope you got it all.

CL post deleted,
Some one must have got it
A, hope it was U

I didn't get it, yet. My last big score was 2-1/2 cords of walnut rounds, and they didn't get back to me for over a week. I posted a fake ad for free oak a while back to test the competition for scrounging. I got very few responses. I had a pile of cut up pallets I wanted to give away to make room for cord wood, and got a lot of response.

Never heard of a 'fake ad' to 'test the waters', but that is a different approach! Not a bad idea, to find out the odds of an easy scrounge going your way!
