As an occasional poster and every day reader of this site for the last six months, I wanted to thank everyone for the amazing amount of knowledge that is being shared on this great site. The advice on this site helped me select my stove (Osburn 1600 insert), find a great source of cheap wood and greatly improve my burning techniques. I've also learned so much about saftey - I fabriacted and installed a block-off plate, purchased chainsaw chaps and steel toe logging boots. I recently ordered a 6" poly brush and will be cleaning my liner in the next week or two. I find myself on this site at least a couple times a day reading just about every post, I learn something new everyday! I'm now researching additional stoves with the idea of installing a second stove for next year. This woodburning thing is rapidly turning into an addition! Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences and advice!

Hey DenD.... Welcome to the Hearth Room, and welcome to the Osburn clan. Keep us posted on how your stove does. Been some mixed feelings around here on the Osburn 1800 lately, so I'll be interested to see how your 1600 does.

So far my 1800i is doing well.

Thanks Warren. So far the 1600i has been performing well. It doesn't heat my whole house due to its smaller size, but I didn't expect it to. I'm still learning how to run it efficiently and trying to maximize burn time. I was interested in the 1800 and 2200, but I had clearance issues, so I would be interested hearing your feelings on the 1800 and why you are now having mixed feelings. I remember some of your previous posts were very positive.

Its good to pour into the information barrel as we all do sitting around the hearth and even the ole'farts to wood burning can tap out some information from the group everyday .

Glad to have you sitting around the fire ring with us.

I'm a young half centurian!

DenD- I've seen Warren's Osburn in action, and It was putting out some BTU's! His hearth is beautiful! I'm toying with the idea of retiring my trusty slammer/whole house oven to upgrade to a safer, more efficient stove, plus once you see them flames through a glass door, it just aint quite the same hanging that screen on this black box for fire viewing, it must be nice to see the flames and keep the heat!

I second the thanks and praise to all the webmasters, moderators, and members of this site.

I enjoy the amount of new posts each day, it's amazing how many topics there are to discuss centered around setting wood on fire.

I like the vast amount of knowledge shown here. No matter what your question, someone has experienced it before and can give educated advice.

The best part is the respect shown by all to all. I have yet to see someone be outright rude, mean, condescending, or hateful to any poster, no matter what the topic. Even questions that have been asked many times before are either answered or politely given a link to the relevant thread.

Thank you and I will keep coming back.
