Remove another guys 1988 encore took it to my garage blew it out shop vack and caulked and re seamed it as best I could without getting into a total rebuild
needs a new cat and really should be rebuilt pacthed a couple cracked plates with refactory cement trying to get another year out of it. Re- installed it
The donor Non Cat Encore will be replacing this stove. Another forum member will be receiving this stove to rebuild and replace his aging Villigant.

My Summit insert was dealer installed last month, made the decision after buying this year's supply of heating oil at the end of the summer when prices were at their peak with a resulting budget plan well in excess of 400 bucks a month. 'Course that's for both heat and the oil-fired hot water heater but still out of control. House heat has been shut right off ever since the install. I have 10 acres of woods so my firewood costs consist of chainsaw, 2-stroke mix and some grunt labor.

Fortunate for you ,the PE Summit only need two splits a day I take that back. It might be, that only the whorehouse red ones need only 2 splits a day

Anymore than that contributes to global warming.. Want to solve global warming, burn cardboard instead

Cardboard? I was thinking 'bout trying recycled German Shepherd dung ...

Installed a small Jotul in our even smaller house. Had to knock a hole through the roof for the the insulated tubing. Well worth it, I'm sure, if it were cold. Unseasonably warm here in the French Alps at a rainy 50 degrees. Snow tomorrow, they say.

Although I too installed a new stove this year, I'd be more interested in hearing how the sales are doing at the dealers and what are their biggest sellers this season.

We installed a Jotul F100. Heats the chalet quite nicely. And, they were right, it snowed last night, a good couple inches. As for the sales of stoves in this region of France, I'd have to say they're quite brisk. We went to two dealers, both of whom took measurements for a quote. The first one we have heard back from yet - this was mid-Nov. For the other one, we had to pester them to give us a quote as well as for them to do the installation. Had we not been so persistent, I believe we'd be sitting in the cold right now.

Bonne année, toutes la monde!
