i now see them in a grocery store

In a town of 15,000, I have two different TrueValues with pellets, an Ace, a HD, Wally, a nursery, a feed co-op, and as stated above, I've seen a few bags in three different groceries.

My neighbor runs the outdoor section at HD, and I think he said last count he had over 60 tons in stock and I'm pretty sure he's already moved that many this year as well. No shortage around here.

i just hope there will not be a shortage , i thought i see this at hearth.com but not sure

$279.00 a ton,is that a good price.I see the same amount of pallets in front of the store that where there in the fall.

Seems way out of line to me. I have never paid more than 200 for anything other than Turman.

Turnam here is 260 a ton, and lignetics are around 230 for a ton.

So how long before these pellet mills get bought out by large corporations, oil and gas companies, energy providers, private equity companies...something to think about I think

Our local HD, for the last two winters, has been $196/ton. This year, if you sign up for a Credit Card while purchasing, you get $50 off... Net $146/ton! Turns out you can get up to five cards. Just pay it off on Monday no interest charged. Are you kidding me? They must be losing money. I'll spend $450-500 this winter instead of $750 budgeted, instead of $2200 LP.

Yeah, I love pellets. I need a bigger garage.

My lowes has Somersets for 209 and i stack it with my monthly 25 dollar off coupon and also get 5% off with a lowes card. Im really liking the Somersets and if i didnt have so much Turman on hand id go get more. I measured 278 degree air coming out of the vent with the p61 not even cranking. Not too shaby for a sub 200 pellet. I honestly think the Somerset and Turman burn identical and cant tell a difference between the two.

Keep in mind that setting up a pellet company is cheap compared to most any other type of heating fuel except firewood. LP, NG, oil, electric require large corporations to function. The investment to produce these sources of energy is staggering. Pellets not so much. So I wouldn't worry about "big corporations" horning in on the pellet biz. If anything you will see more big companies that produce waste wood fiber having a pellet company subsidiary, but that only makes sense.

i can mine at home depo for 5.50 a bag eastern embers , and they burn good better than triebo walmart , and trueburn .
