Is it too warm inside ??

I don't see how it is possible to keep a house below 75 when burning wood unless you have a BK. Even with small loads and smoldering fires(not all the time just wanted to see what happened:eek:) the house will still make it to the 90 degree mark regardless of outside temperature
 
As bad as I hate to I'm going to let the fire go out because "company" is going to be here for new years dinner tomorrow and I'm going to try and freeze them, then maybe they will shut up about being to hot. They like it cold, then there going to get cold;)

Can't beat a heat bank.

Christmas dinner happens in our stove room as that's the only place big enough to seat everyone. Had the stove loaded early in the morning with 3 med-small splits, just enough to keep it going with a few coals to do 3 med-small splits again about 45 mins before dinner for ambiance and a touch of heat. Didn't need heat upstairs with the stove and oven going and it wasn't that cold.

Don't always have to feed the monster a full load. I will say though, getting decent burns on a small load takes being picky with wood selection in terms of dimensions. Since my stove is in the basement, it helps that I have room for a wood rack down there holding about 1/3 a cord.

Our problem is not much cooking and not enough TVs and showers and body heat and stuff warming the joint up. So many variables from home to home. Like me having the invalid wife on the second floor. Gotta keep it warm up there and sometimes that means it gets kinda hot downstairs.

Lots of variables. For every wood burner. Why I chuckle at all of the posts about burn times and temps. They all be different from house to house and climate to climate.

Guilty! It is 78 in my living room and I still have a down blanket on me, my stove is in this room, I should add, maybe 15 feet away. Ok,ok it is god's cruel joke to make us women cold, we are all just born this way!

Yeah im trying different things i thought i had it figured out but im not Quiet there ah at least stove is working great now.

my cats love it but sitting infront of the stove when 15 feet off to the side of the stove diagonally its 80-84f is pretty hot. Company does not like it much. Our bedroom if its over 68f we have to open windows and were the coldest farthest room from the stove so all other areas are watmer.
 
It is 86 in the stove room, and 75 in the next room, and 69 in the furthest room not to bad from the ol Osburn.

It's 79 in stove room and 76 at other end of house, that does change at night while sleeping, BUT, part of the reason I burn wood is , I am not comfortable at 65 degrees ,( when I am setting around doing nothing, watchin TV etc) trying to save on a gas bill.
Some people are comfortable at 65 , NOT ME :ZZZ :)

For me heat dosnt bother me its the humidity plus heat that does.Winter heat from a wood stove feels great due to the very low humidity.When im up stairs and watching tv in bed! it can get pretty warm due to the heat of the large screen tv in a small bedroom! thats when i might put on the ceiling fan.My wife will sometimes sleep in the other bedroom because its to hot in the main one.
 
I like to keep it around 72 degrees. over 75 and I'm getting hot myself. I think I could get it into the 90's and my wife would still be comfortable. Not sure there is such a thing as too hot to her. At night the house cools off to 66 and the gas furnace will kick in sometime before morning. I like it cool at night. So far nobody has been over and complained of a house that is too warm. Although several have asked me how dry the house gets. That doesn't seem to be a problem though. 40%rh

Guess you'll have a good way of getting them out when the time comes ;).

Actually no. The best way to get them out early is to load the liberty full and dial it in for a normal burn. After about 30 minutes of a 750 degree stove they are out the door;)

This stove doesn't know how to burn a small load. It will burn a small load hotter than a full tight packed load

My stove too, but with less fuel, it doesn't stay as hot as long.

Most folks love it in our house because it is so warm. However, if they stay too long, things tend to change. They start roasting. I don't mind at all putting another log on the fire. I'll keep getting it warmer until clothing starts to come off...

The first time we where there it was unbelievably hot to me Dennis ! That was because without insulation at the time we where lucky to hit 65F you where 80F. !!! I was trying to be very polite and not say anything ;lol but man was it hot and that stove was so cooooool ! with insulation I am getting used to 70-75 and loving it best of all we can actually hit 90 on accident ! We could not hit 70 on accident before. Thanks for the insulation recommendation by the way !
