Went out this morning and picked up some ash and also a elm that had fell in the field. I've had my eye on this since deer season and just couldn't wait any longer. :)

Took some pics of what will be cut for the next load. There's 3 dead ash side by side that will be real easy and the main trunk of the elm. I'm inclined to leave that elm , I hate splitting it, but if its at all tuff, stringy, and just plain nasty then I will haul it over some late night to the guy with the "red" milkcrate and drop it off in his driveway!

Didn't fill the trailer to full, still some low spots back there that haven't frozen solid yet.

That's neat when you get 3 right together that need cutting. Lots of wood in one spot.

I did go out today and just started cutting on the top of a red oak that came down last July. Going to be a lot of good wood in that tree. Then there is another not very far from that! Hum. Maybe I'll make a new thread.

Way to start the new year.
Truck & trailer loaded, close to a cord of good wood there.

Looks good Wishlist, I think your mother would like that Elm!

I don't know if she would or not zap? She's particular about her wood. Must be seasoned well ,( she just loves to put wood on coal bed and watch the show) prefers oak but did accept my recent delivery and must be split not to big! I guess if Sav splits it small she MIGHT accept it?

She told me today she has went thru 2 of her racks in the garage. I think she was hinting she would like more wood for next year? Mothers!!!!!!;)

"Ma Wishlist" gets the good stuff.
And she know what the good stuff is!

Not sure who taught who but you both are a good team ;)

My Mom did the same, liked mixing coal & wood.
It might help reduce clinkers.

Come to think of it maybe that's why Ma bought me a cant hook for Christmas. She's planning on raiding my stash and wants me to cut more!
