Thanks. Will borrow buddy's trailer, and assuming someone doesn't grab before Sunday, make a couple trips. Haven't had ash in a while.

I think locust
Like said, good wood either way, price is right ;)

Think I see Locust AND Ash there. Hope you snag it.

Honey Locust and/or Ash. Either is great. Cut and waiting for you to drive up and load is better. Don't wait.

It looks like free wood to me. Hope that helps motivate you to go get it.

black locust and ash there...

I think it is mostly Ash with some Black Locust.

I'm with the others: looks like mostly ash. Now quick, get it split and off the ground!:)

Thats about as good as a scrounge as there is, free locust and ash already bucked! it might even be bucked to the length you need and just have to split, go get it!

Awesome scrounge. I would contact the guy and let him know your coming and ask what his favorite beer is.

Thats the best kind of wood there is. Free!!!

Picked up the wood today. By no means do I consider myself an expert on species, but I know for sure it was NOT locust and I am not certain if it is ash. Almost positive it is poplar. I say this because it was not too heavy and I had poplar before. One of the pics includes a split piece. I am not complaining because it is free but I was a little disappointed. What do you think?

I dont think it is poplar judging by some ive had around here. I could be wrong

I'm not sure. It is light as poplar, but doesn't have the yellowish/purple markings of the poplar I had. Maybe ash? Is ash typically on the lighter side? I am not an overly big or strong guy and the larger rounds were not too difficult to lift. Could be the last loads of wood I got were locust and that was heavy!
