Yea just replaced my door gasket, kinda a pain in the ass getting the old cement off just scraping with a screw driver and hammer (chisel effect). The glue was the worst (rutland brand) just had to cut the bottem of the tube to get it to dispense. I spread it evenly around with finger worked ok. I have the stove fired right now to get the cement to cure.

I just did my first, scraped the big stuff with screwdriver, than buzzed out all the rest with dremel tool. Worked great had the channel to shiny clean steel. Maybe I am wrong but I thought you were supposed to let glue cure before using.

+1, I did one last year and seem to remember having to let it cure at ambient... Probably doesn't matter either way. It's SUPER CURED now!

I need to do mine, Im waiting for a mild day, may get my wish next week. What glue is best?

I invite you all to maintain my Encore. You will find that replacing your door gasket once every four or so years to be fantastic dream compared to all the gasket maintenance required on the Encore.

I used Imperial Gasket Cement very nice to apply. I know a lot of guys here have replaced many gaskets. If you use before cement is dry it seems you run the risk of gluing your door shut or gluing gasket to both surfaces. Or glue not curing correctly?

It looks like we will get another year out of this one, I'll replace ours in the spring with the new one I bought in the fall.

I did replace the one on our pellet stove this year, I did some scraping then used a wire wheel on the drill for the rest, works great. I think Sav mentioned the wheel.

The rutland cement cures when door is on .the stove and cookin When replacing the gasket the channel does not need to be super clean just most of the big stuff, a screw driver is all that is needed to clean the channel of the old cement, does not need to be perfect. Oh by the way the old gasket had been on the stove for 4 years.

Thanks, Ill give it a try, I should have ordered it with the gasket but wasnt thinking, doh!
This is my 4th year burning so it seems to be the time to replace, my door is adjusted all the way so next step is a gasket and start all over again, I guess once I do it once it will be easier the next time.

On my King..which is on it's third season I just pulled it out and then put it back in the opposite way it was .
There was very little glue and I didn't use any. Guess it's been about a week and all seems fine.
I don't know about the Princess but the King as a thick gasket and the channel is deep that it goes into and fits real snug.

yup, same thing, pretty sure its the same gasket according to the paperwork I got in the box, its says for BK Princess and King, sounds pretty easy, Ill see how mine looks when I take it off and have some cement on hand, its not an expensive item.

I'm going to get a new gasket soon and just didn't have any cement around.
I was just pulling on the gasket just a little and since it came right out I said why not not try it the other way around.
The gasket had a pretty deep grove where it would hit against the frame on the stove.
Gasket is still soft.
