I can't believe we have another system coming in at us again. The amount of rain and wind we have had this year has been far more than I can remember. The ski hill here on the Island has about 10 ft of snow, and the systems in the pacific are still stacked up. We need a stretch of dry weather to let the ground dry out.

Power came back on about 1pm today. We didn't even bother cleaning up the new debris this time with another storm on it's way. It will be nice when the jet stream relocates itself and takes these storms elsewhere. But then I read of MSG's snowfall and I have to say it doesn't seem so bad.

Currently we're promised cold and sunshine by the end of the week. Lots of wood burning coming for us. I'm ready for spring, but the mountains look nice and sure have a good snowpack.

We have been enjoying the benefits of this wicked winter. We are running short on product though. Limiting 15 bags of pellets per customer, 1/2 cord on seasoned wood. Plenty of 8lb logs and Super Cedars.

What a turn-around from last year. Up here in the CT. seems there are pellets everywhere. Firewood signs up everywhere too. I was in Lowe's the other day. They must have 60 tons of pellets sitting there and no one is buying them. They also have 2847 snowblowers collecting dust!

Howdy! Just thought we should have our own regional thread too.

Isn't the cool weather nice? 37 degrees here now. Stove is going strong and feels great! Waiting for a little snow tonight :)

Kevin:
Good idea. We have had bad weather and freaky storms from your monsoon rains and MSG's 100 year storms. The jet-stream is definitely askew. Our temps have been crazy. Thought the high today would be about 21-24 F. Turns out at 7:30 PM it 29 degrees. Been constant since 4 PM. It's supposed to drop tonight with an inbound storm.

The North Sound (puget) got hammered last night with wind, A big majority of Everett lost power, I know alot of tree's went down, hoping to score some wood.

on a side note, did anyboy catch the SEA/DAL game that just ended?? what a strange finish!!

Right at freezing temps now, wind picking up just a little bit. Hope to get some snow tonight!

Hilly, I know what you mean about letting things dry out a bit. Even here on the other side of the mtns we've had too much water, my back yard looks like a mud pit. 4 dogs tracking it in the house is GREAT too!

FWG, if you've never been here come visit and you'll know very quickly why we're called the great NW... those little speed bumps you guys call mountains, well, enough said.

I visited Washington and Oregon some time ago. True, in comparing mountains in the NW with the mountains in the NE, I can see where the phrase of "Flat Landers" originated from. HA HA !

Hello to all you PNW'ers. I grew up in Seattle and that's one of the first things I said to my wife (before we married). "You call these mountains?" She thought I was arrogant and dismissed me as as another uninformed Westerner. But I eventualy won her over. When I took her back to Washington state I jabbed her again and said "told you so". Ha!

Its strange how the demand for pellets is non existant here. More incredible is the demand for snow shovels, snow blowers, and sleds. Im sitting here looking at numbers and we sold over 2400 shovels last week, 46 honda snowblowers, and 687 snow sleds. I was talking to the store manager this mornig before work and he said in the 51 years this place has been in business, only once was there such a run on stuff. 1982. We have three snowblowers left, shoves are gone and sleds are gone. The difference this year is the time of year. Its usually dry down here. In the spring we get lots of snow but people know it will be warm the next day and melt it off. People are freaking out because its not getting warm enough to melt anything.

We're seeing shortages related to the storms here as well. I still can't get a can of white gas from the local True Value. Yet the winds and rain are picking up again.

Thomas, are Manke, Lignetics and Western Oregon Wood products out? This is the first time I've heard of a shortage here.

I have been trying to pm MSG. I received a email saying my inbox is full with 100 emails. I don't see any when I go to the PM.

When I try to pm MSG I get my info only when I click on MSG avatar PM.

Begreen, yes we have been having a hard time with pellets. Seems like all the box stores and fireplace shops have been sending us their customers for the past 45 days. We are having supply problems because of it. 15 bag maximum for the past 10 days.
Manke says spring time for them to ship.
I hear Lig. burned down
North Idaho having trouble getting raw product, Hell I'm having trouble getting raw cedar for my Supers.

MSG, please email me [email protected].

Thank You
Thomas

Bummer about Lignetics, that was a big operation. Their website is down too. I'm surprised that WOW pellets is running low as well. What a difference a year and one major supplier dropping out can make.

Pinnacle in BC 'seems' to be still up. There is Bear Mountain and GoldenFire as well in OR. You probably already have this, but here's a link to other BC pellet manufacturers.

Atlas in Hayden Idaho is also retooling the plant and is not going to be online untill the middle of Jan first part of Febuary.

That is where many of us around here go to get pellets but they are not going to service customer orders untill they get caught back up so my guess is that it's going to be a while.

I've not heard anything about Lignetics burning down. I did hear they moved the plant to Sandpoint ID and they may not be running yet. The website was up around x-mas time so I would guess this has to do with the move??? Agian this is what the rumour mill around this area has been saying. I've not called Lignetics but I did call Atlas to confirm this. Lignetics phone is 208-263-0564 if somebody wants to call them. I know the local Lowes stores still have that brand in stock for about $180/ton
