Does anyone know a good source for fisher parts, or anyone who fabricates them since they are out of business? I was looking for a screen for my Grandma stove, but they seem quite rare these days.

I am not sure that the Grandma had a screen option (hopefully some one will pipe up about that). If it DIDN'T have the option, don't go putting one on there. If it wasn't designed for it, don't assume that you can safely run it with one.

Grandma and Grandpa had the option for a screen. The earlier single door mama/papa/baby bear did not allow for screens.

There is a chrome rectangle style called Contemporary, and a black with arched top called Classic that come up from time to time on eBay.
The full size Insert, Goldilocks and Grandma all use the same size screen, so it's the easiest size to find.
Be prepared to pay over $100. I used the screen for open door burning only when starting the fire. They are not considered radiant heaters when burned in "Fireplace mode".
Below are styles shown for Fisher II Stoves after 1980;

Contemporary also fit earlier model stoves with flat top doors since they grip to the door opening that's the same size as stoves with arched top doors.. The Classic will only fit arched top doors correctly, since the support ears sit on top of the hinges. Flat top doors are not as high, and the lower ears will not reach the lower door hinge plates as shown in the mismatch below.

There is an entire sub-forum (Fisher Stove Information, Parts, History and More) with this information and MUCH more listed under the "Classic Stove Forum" where this thread has been moved. Enjoy;

ok i need one for a mama bear fisher send info to [email protected] t/y

Mama Bear is a single door stove that doesn't use a screen for open viewing. That was the reason for double door stoves to make a larger viewing area.

If that is the screen size, the door opening should be 17 wide X 10 high. If that is the case, you need a screen for Grandma, Insert, Goldilocks or Teddy that uses the same size. (If your stove has 4 legs, it's a Grandma; No legs, is an Insert; Pedestal is a Goldilocks or Teddy Bear)
The rectangular type will fit both flat top and arched top doors. The newer arched top screen will only fit arched top doors.

Message CamFan and tell him you need a Grandma / Insert screen. They come up from time to time on eBay, but can go for over a hundred. Yeah, dollars.

The '76 would have been all black with chrome T handle. This one like new sold a while back on eBay for $175. The Contemporary chrome new ones from CamFan will fit, just not time period correct.

This is the first screen;

Thank you very much for getting back to me with information. I am unsure what CanFam is. Right now I would probably take any screen that would fit and remain on the Ebay lookout as long as it takes to find an original.
Is CanFam a stove company or an individual who makes and sells?

Back up to post #16 in this thread and click on his member name. Then hit "start a conversation". That is a private message.
He was a welder from the Southeast Fisher plant in Georgia who married into the licensee's family. The front of the building is still used for hearth and patio retail products. They also bought out Dunn Brothers left over stock when they closed the Virginia plant. His avatar is the stove #1 made at the Georgia Fabricator supplying the southeast.
This is left over new old stock on the shelf since they closed !
