I've really only burned Greene Team Gold and Somersets in the last two years and the last year or so its been mostly Somersets cause I can get them easily/regularly at the Menards near me and for a fair price. Picked up a ton on a Sunday about a week ago ($179). Burned for 4-5 days, on both Room/Stove temp mode and noticed my ash pan was almost FULL. I thought, man, that seems pretty fast to fill my ash pan. In past seasons, whether I burned Somersets or Greene Team, I could always burn for at least a week and only have half an ash pan. Now, I'm having to empty the ash pan in between my weekly/bi-weekly deep cleanings. And the ash seems fluffier, where in the past, with the Greene Golds, the ash was very fine.

In conclusion, I've definitely noticed the increase in ash produced by the Somersets that I just purchased. I'll try an experiment and dig deeper into my stash to see if Somersets from last season are any better than the ones I just purchased. More ash = less purity in the pellet?

My local lowes has had the same 20+ pallets sitting there since before Sandy came through. They told me that the only pellets that sold was the Somersets that were delivered. I feel bad for anyone that buys them because they have been sitting out in the weather for about 9 weeks now. Hopefully they take notes on what sells and where the price needs to be. I hope the cheat rivers rot on their sidewalks.

For me and my stove the GT's burn hotter than the Sets but with more ash. The Sets do burn fairly hot though.

I like them both myself and would burn all GT if nothing else was available but with what I currently have on hand, the Greene Teams have lots more ash than the 'Sets but they do throw off really good heat....purely based on my current experience/batches, it's definitely the Somersets.......
You have the same stove as myself and I found the green T's very disapointing! Very gritty w/ clinkers and low heat. The Green Supremes were shockingly good for the $$...I don't get it? Everyone hates the supremes overall. Been burning Lacretes and they are good.

I bought some green team.. In my PDVC stove, they are not good at all. Heavy ash, no heat... North Americans burns better than GT.

I have burned all in my mt v this yr... north americans were filling my firebox with three bags requiring me to clean. I can burn over 3 times that amount of gt before i have to do the same. No contest. I would burn na if they were cleaner. For me, the fly ash is what dictates cleaning.

Its just weird how the same pellets are really acting different in everyones stove this year. I haven't seen this much change talked about since I started burning pellets.
