It takes a long time for a single auger rotation. One full minute of power being sent to it. This is from my stoves timing chart if I have the stove set for heat range 1 it will take 15 cycles on my timing chart for the auger to have power for one full minute that is 4 minutes of wall clock time.
Your time for a complete revolution will depend upon how long your cycle time is and how much of it the auger is actually powered and the RPM of your auger motor.

Hi Sandy...Auger is slow...Compared to what? If you have actually watched your auger before and you are comparing it now to what it used to do, then yes, that's indicitive of a problem. Although not necessarially meaning your motor is about to "go." But, if you have never seen your auger work, and you just happened to see it and it appears slow, that is another story. How old is the auger motor and have you had any auger jams recently? (or ever for that matter....they will suck the life out of your motor) What kind of stove do you have?
Bottom line....is the stove burning differently on the same heat setting than before? If not, it's probably fine.

I have a Whitfield Quest which I bought used . Its probably from the early 90's. Tobegin, my auger would not feed pellets, thought it was jammed. Took out pellets but it was not jammed. Wrote in here for help what to do nexr\t and was suggested that before I go and get new auger to check to see if it slipped by adding a washer (by armature?) plus I could push the buttton and it would go up. Well I did that. Friend came over and he did it. He got stove working finally for a couple hours but went to bed and turned it off. (He showed me what to look for when the auger turns. The next morning I went to start and auger would not turn, just barely, no pellets were dropped also. He said then I must need a new motor. Don't know anything about buying a new motor. Also, I noticed he had a hard time keeping it lit or trying to light it and he had put the feed rate all the way up which I never had to..So that is where I am now.. Thanks for answering -Sandy

I worked on a Whitfield Quest recently and replaced the auger motor. Then it was fine!

Sandra get a copy of the service manual for your stove in it there should be a timing chart. If your auger isn't turning enough you need to be able to determine if it is being told to turn for the proper amount of time. Absent that information you have to remove the auger motor from the wiring harness and connect it directly to a wall outlet with a patch cord and let it run and time how long it takes to turn one revolution (this test should be done in the stove with pellets in the hopper and flight as this provides a test under load). If this test shows the auger to be running slow then bushings and/or the motor are suspect. It would then be to your benefit to replace the motor and bushings.
It is also possible that your controller isn't working correctly.

You can see if your bushings are worn once you pulled the motor and the auger.
Order them only if needed.
