HI Everyone, Happy new year!

I have a VC Resolute III that I have posted about in the past and am now looking to install. I have posted pictures of the template that I made for the raised hearth (48" x 48") I plan to use.
The Resolute manual gives the specs of 10" from unprotected walls using rear and stove pipe heat shields. Also 24" clearance on the sides. I do plan on clearing out the area as well!!!

Using a heat shield on the rear and bottom, it seems that I will have enough clearance for the rear. The front I will have more than 18" of clearance, but plan on buying a hearth rug as well. The stove pipe will need to be double wall,as the existing chimney pipe is 8"(12" from center) off of the wall. It is a double wall metalbestos. The string in the picture is from the center of the chimney pipe.

My concern is the clearanse on the sides. I have apporximately 11" on each side of the hearth, and the manual calls for 24" from combustables. The floor is the Pergo type laminate flooring, with concrete underneath. Would this be sufficient or would I need to make the hearth bigger?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Mike

Thanks pen the manual above helps!
I do have the bottom heat shield & manual. Was wondering if the 12" would apply to the floor as well, there are no walls and the nearest combustible would be over 3' . I double checked and I am about 11.5" on the sides. Would a hearth rug on the sides be ok to extend the clearance?

Thanks again

I was getting the 12 inches of hearth pad on each side from page 15 or 16 in that manual. Dang, 1/2 inch is close. Did you lay the tile already? If not, more underlayment board could be secured?

I was originally measuring from the legs, but gain another inch clearance when measuring from the firebox. I have not started the tile yet, but was thinking along the same line as I was taking down the lights in this 60 degree weather! Just want to get my ducks in a row before I lay the tile - then there is no turning back....

Thanks again for the input - much appreciated!
