Hey everyone, over the weekend I installed a new to me Englander pdvc that I got from AMFM energy. Thanks to all of the excellent info posted by all of you I had zero reservations about buying a refurbished stove, I feel that I will have much better luck this time around, and I like knowing that there's some pretty good support for Englander owners here. My previous experience with the Country Flame was not good. Poor tech support, they kept blaming the pellets I was burning. I tried 10 different brands, all brands that I researched on here and found positive reviews, After a number of problems I pulled the stove and vowed to never own another pellet stove. Recently I started saving up for a wood stove. Well, I only got about half of what I needed for the stove...I would have still needed money for about 20ft of class a chimney pipe. My wife suggested another pellet stove because we still had the chimney and she was always freezing. Well, after finding out about AMFM energy on here, and a $450 oil bill for about 6 weeks running from middle of November - end of December I pulled the trigger on another pellet stove. Way I see it I still may be able to break even with the money I will save on oil this winter and even if I don't I know I'll be a hell of a lot warmer. I expect to be able to heat my whole house, the other stove did... when it worked. Anyway, I rambling. Thanks to everyone for posting about your experiences and keep them coming. Here's a shot of the stove on a temporary hearth pad. I plan to finish it off in the summer.

Lookin good so far....got a good surge protector for that, right? ;)

Also, double check your lower 3 button settings before start-up....should be 6-4-1 to start out. If not, let us know what it reads.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you were able to get the info you needed and I hope you'll have years of good heat in front of you! Is your last name Rudd? If so, that's pretty rare. My last name is Rudd too and the only Rudds I see are either football players and Nascar drivers!

Thanks Chan. No, my last name is not Rudd though. It's Trudeau, but Trudd rhymes with Rudd and is a nickname I picked up in high school. My farther has the same nickname... go figure.

LOL! Ok...I get it! Oh well, there's not many of us around and I thought I found a relative :) Good luck with the new stove!

To check mode:
unplug stove, plug back in and quickly press the blower speed up and down arrows together at the same time .

Release, and a letter will appear in the heat range window. I believe the PVDC is supposed to be mode D...
