That is some serious expertise to make that conversion work.....

I would think a pellet furnace would have been a better choice for this particular application and a whole lot cheaper to purchase and install?

No vid. Just a black box. Could be my ipad?

:: edit :: refreshed the page and it works.

Was tossing around the idea of heating water with pellets. Gives me some ideas.

Or a pellet boiler to start ??????????

I am doing it with my PC45. House has never been more comfortable. Conversion kit is easy to install and is straight forward IMO

I want to find an old stove and make it into a swimming pool water heater

Anyone willing to post a 'How-to" on this installation?

You can get a Big E right now thats new for around 1K. On CL for 650-700. The crosslink kit is 1800+-. There is Pseries Harmans for under 1500 on CL. Or I think Crosslink inc has a P68 with kit installed for under 3k used. I know the payback with mine is going to be about 2 years at current oil and Electric prices.

There are stoves in Europe that make both domestic hot water and heating hot water. We're way behind here in the states.

I'm sure someone put a lot of thought and effort into that system; but when I look at it, I think of two words: Rube Goldberg!

First of all, you have altered and compromised the stove. Safety, well that's another question. I'd like to hear what your insurance company says about it.

Sorry, but this isn't for me.

Stove has been modified therefore there is no insurance company that will touch it with a 100' pole. Unless you spend the big bucks to get it certified again by UL $50,000 to $100,000 and 6 - 12 stoves you will never see again because they are destroyed in testing

As in another thread,we are still looking for where non window pellet stove properly installed has been the cause of a house fire.
