M55 and GC60 Owners

Now that I am temp running quick question. I burn most of the time on setting 2. Today after running 9 bags through it, I took the stove apart and cleaned it really good. Now on setting 2 I am getting blue smoke out of the pipe. Before the cleaning it would smoke on setting 1. I am burning Lignetics Green label, and Powerhouse pellets. The lignetics create a chit ton of ash. Im wondering If I need to adjust the feed trim, or combustion trim. This is all new to me so and input would be of great help.

How did you like powerhouse pellets, I love them they throw some heat!

You can include the Omega/Maxx M owners. Same engine as the M55. I sometimes see smoke on fresh after cleaning start ups(depends on the pellet). What happens is the pellets feed in and settle to the sides of the burnpot. They do not ignite like the ones that end up in the middle of the burnpot. So they smolder. It seems to die down about an hour or so after burning. Once ash fills the sides this seems to go away as you burn.

Too prove it I would fill the side edges with some ash and then fire the stove. No more smoking on start up. FYI.

I think you nailed it. I opened the stove checked everything to make sure I put it back in correctly, everything was fine. Checked the slider damper, it was all the way open dealer set that with a mag gauge. I slid it back in forth a few times in case ash was built up there. Emptyied the hopper, and found a piece of electrical wire, and vaccumed the fines. After the ashes built up in the burn pot, the only thing coming out of the pipe is heat vapor. After I cleaned it It smoked like a locomotive for a few hours everytime the pellets dropped, not black smoke, a thin blue smoke. So I think I am good. Thanks for the help.

This is also the reason you see unburned pellets in the ash pan. Check the sticky on the burnpot mods. The tabs I added to my burn grate also reduce the smoking and at the same time keep the pellets in the burnpot. Less pellets will go into the area.

My tabs are corroding off, I plan on making SS plates I can screw to the each side of the burn grate. I'll update the sticky post when I do.

I have only burned Lignetics besides powerhouse. Lignetics burn hot, but they fill up my ash pan quick.
