I bought my pellet stove from these guys towards the end of the season last year. I only ran a few bags through before it was time to shut down. I went with them based on a couple recommendations for their customer service. So far it has been a great experience. The people who came out for the install were really knowledgeable and took the time to talk me to about running/cleaning the stove. I thought I had a problem with the OAK (they installed it) this year and they came out and checked it for a fraction of the price they should have charged for the time they spent here (there wasn't an issue). And to top it off, they called me today to let me know that $300 tax credit was extended for the 2012 tax year. I did not know know this and did not expect them to take the time to call their customers to inform them. I thought it shows how much they value their customers. So, I thought I should take the time to let others know about them and recommend them to you guys.

I also bought my stove there a few years back, had gone to a few places before deciding which shop to go with, and they were to me far ahead of their competition in all aspects.

I left my dealer bc he is a moron.

I call afterglow when I need something. The trip is longer for me but they know their stuff, and are pleasant to deal with.

same deal as all the other post. Awesome folks to deal with. I didn't buy my p68 from them (should have) and found them when I was feed up with poor service from my dealer. They have done free warranty work for me on things (new burnpot, auger) after my warranty had lapsed.they didn't have to take me on(I also live some forty min. down the road) but they did. If your looking for a good dealer in CT there it!

I agree with everything that's been said already....including bad experience with other dealer. :)

Be nice to know what part of CT all of you "CT" ers are in. :D

Small town just outside of Waterbury

im in waterbury....one mile from the famous blackies hot dogs

Plymouth aka terryville,

Southington native

seems like alot of us "hearth" folks from the same area.....Torrington area here

Same here - bought my Quadrafire from them and have nothing but the best to say about them. They are 1 town away from me so it was an easy first choice and I never had reason to go elsewhere. I self-installed and they reviewed and commented on my install plans and were very flexable about exchanging vent parts when my plans changed. I would go back.

Interesting comments... I stopped in there when shopping around for my stove (new, 1st timer) in the summer of 2008 and explained my house layout and size and one of the guys there told me a pellet stove wouldn't work for me. I'm glad I didn't listen and went elsewhere because except for my hot water heater I haven't needed my oil furnace. Now I can't speak to their service since I didn't buy from them and they don't sell/service my Lopi. The dealer I did go with did well with the sale and installation, but not so good on the follow up and the brand of pellets they stock haven't been that good. They also have been a bit more expensive on replacement parts (ignitor, fuses) than others. I'm glad you are having a good experience with them.

Better than what my authorized quad dealer installer did, undersized stove no house visit, no permit, subbed to a Johnny hammer. Worst of all insisted on the minimum stove size for square footage, no I see it was a tactic to keep price down thinking I'd walk on sale, foolish common sales mistake.. Now I walked on any sale of his for the rest of my life..

I'm planning on swinging by afterglow with glass door to have the, change gasket. I don't mind the mechanical repairs etc but I hate door gasket swaps.

Oops I meant to type" Middlebury, small town outside of Waterbury" ;)

Scenic/rustic?

Lake McDonough?
Wanna talk boring? Ha...I live west of you both in Goshen! Population 2500 or so, and half of them only live there in the summer! Wanna talk boring?....We don't even have a traffic light! Our town is so boring, on a rainy night I will take the family "into town" to go to Wal Mart just to watch the roof leak!!!

Yes, life was a bit slower and quieter here in CT up until about 20 years ago. I too wish for a more boring life. It's nice to be near New Haven, but it's getting to be where I'm too close to New Haven now...
