Nice to see all the "Room Temp" users... If you get the temp probe dialed in (in the right place) this setting really takes advantage of all the wizardry we paid for when buying a Harman... When it's below 30, unless your house is wickedly well insulated, having it in auto or manual shouldn't make a bit of difference since the stove shouldn't shut down anyway. Below 30 your house will always be loosing heat at a pretty good pace so the maintenance burn will allow the stove to bleed some heat into the room in advance of a call for heat. The only reason Room Temp auto could be a benefit is if you have a power loss and the stove goes cold. Will fire back up once power is restored.

sorry STOVE TEMP here it works for me

Ibcynya, I hear you about the room temp feature. However, with my layout, it just doesn't work when temps are below the mid 20's. At that point I become a stove temp guy and I take the place of a T-stat or the temp probe. Keeps me warm and happy.

Room temp manual, temp set at 75, feed rate 3.5, room blower wide open, feels real good in here.

i may give this a try, where does everyone have the probe, because mine isnt very long

I made mine longer with some thermostat wire and put it on one of my rear speaker stands on the other side of the room from the stove. Tried it in a couple other places first but it works well where it is now. Its close to where the wife and I usually sit. Watch out for drafts though.

At the end of the day, what works for you is the only right answer. Heck, I bypass the Harman system and use an external wireless thermostat...that works best for me... While I've posted about it, I try to refrain from suggesting my way is a one size fits all solution. Think you are the same way. Generally speaking, room temp works very well as long as you don't have drafts hitting the probe causing the room to overheat OR the probe not getting enough cold draft to cause the rest of the room to excessively cool, thus reducing comfort. I would guess your probe isn't seeing a happy medium in your setup which pushes you towards stove temp when things get cold and your heat loss increases exponentially - Harman diagnostic tool would help here. The ESP is really a great modern solution, but the room sensor probe is 90's technology (being generous), wish they would step it up a bit and bring everything up to modern techonolgy... Someday....

You are correct on all accounts.

so i tried this room/temp manual setting last night, never thought i would prefer it over stove mode, feed rate @ 4, temp dial at 80, fan on high....works beautifully. thanks guys
