Hi -

Time to scrounge wood from normally soft areas!! Ilike cold low snow weather because I can get into several properties that would be damaged by ruts during the rest of the year. Recent ice storm has provided rich opportunities.

We're at a balmy 27F...

14* and using 2 bags of pellets a day to keep the home at 72*.

In St. Paul-en-Chablais, France (altitude 2,400 feet), it's currently 50 degrees F, gusts of 30mph+ from the south, bit of drizzle. Being the French Alps, this is unacceptable. Looks like the good ol' USA has been hit with the cold. Wish we could say the same here. Ski resorts are suffering. Only one measurable dump of the white stuff all year in our neck of the woods.

18* here now, not supposed to get much colder tonight. 72* downstairs, 70* main level, just about time to reload on a bed of coals.

was 29 degrees when i logged on a couple hours ago, pellet stove idling along at heat range 2 (of 9) house temp as i type 71 degrees, (aint insulation great;) supposed to get down to about 20 tonite, but i doubt i will need to turn up the stove or light off the woodstove.on second thought, maybe insulation isnt so great , i havent lit the woodstove at all this year , just too easy to run the pellet unit

Not too bad here now.

We're up to 8*. About 74* near the stove.

Its good to be warm

last night it was about 25 degrees here in our part of northern california. Today it got up to about 50 I think. When it gets down to 20-25 people call it cold. Ha!

We just replaced an old junk stove (which was our main source of heat) with a new Harman Oakwood, so last night we heated with just our little country striker. That little thing kept our upstairs close to 70 all night and still had some wood left in it this AM. that little stoves amazes me. I am hoping to get the Oakwood broken in tonight so I can let it rip tomorrow night.

Personally, I wish it were colder so I could run my stove more.

We plan on moving further into the mountains for more colder weather. About 60 miles east of here in Truckee, it was -1 last night and 43 during the day today. Now that's where I need to be!!!

We plan on moving by next fall. Can't wait!

7 degrees @ 10:40 pm...1" of snow on theway...74 in house....

Current temp 10F at 10:45 p.m., last night's low 8 below, today's high 15 above. Living room is 76, upstairs rooms 70, kids' rooms in the front of the house are just under 60 (big drafty sucky windows up there) but they're healthy teen bucks that each have a drawer fulla sweaters %-P

The temp. / weather outside right now is…… and you?

Temp here is 9* currently. High of about 19* earlier today. Inside temp is 69* right now, but I've been floating around 65-72 depeding on how hot I get my little stove. Me? I haven't checked lately, but I'm guessing I'd be right at 98.6* ;)

19* here now at 11:45PM, 73 degrees inside lower area, upper is prolly around 75* or 76*

Ice-glazed Texas shivers, as winter storm's death toll rises to 59 usatoday

ICY... and a nice balmy 29* with wind 15-20 mph... Why couldn't we just get some snow instead... :(

36* outside right now, which is higher than it was most of the day. Was in the teens last night, so of course the GF left the stove door open >:-( which set off the CO detector @ 2:00AM - 8-/ had to leave the doors open the rest of the night to air the place out... :grrr: had to run the furnace this AM to get the house back up to temperature.

Went to the hardware store this afternnon for a new CO detector (one w/ a PPM readout) and they had a sign out front saying 2-4" snow and ice expected - currently looks like it's doing something outside, I can see less of the ground out the window than I've seen all winter!

Stove is cooking...
