stove room varies w/ outside temps. 75 to 85 from shoulder season to bitter cold.
front of house 75. back bedroom 68 to 72.

Sixty at night and bump it up to sixty five in the morning then back down to sixty two for the rest of the day. Anything over sixty five feels too hot to me.

Love it! Lowest setting gives me this. Also love my Hunter t'stat that lets me check up on things no matter where I am at. (At work right now...)

Same here, It was an easy switch and much warmer for about 1/3 the cash(rough figure-don't shoot me!).
I am closer to 1/2 the cost. Especially during the bitter cold days. I burn somersets when its frigid out, and softies when its milder, say, in the 20-40* range. Savings will have this $3000 investment paid for on my third winter....:)

Hey oh seasoned one, are you contemplating going the pellet route?
Not often do you venture onto the dark side of the hearth.
Anything is possible,i like the automation aspect of the pellets, only thing i havnt tried yet is a cat stove and a pellet stove, would like to experience both at some point.

Stove is in the living room. Usually stays 76-77. Rest of the house is 71

Let us just say you have not acquired the the level of panic that a true pig has when the on hand supply approaches the three ton mark.

And here I thought the heart palpitations and shortness of breath were something silly like a heart issue and now I come to find out its because my stash is getting close to three tons. Time to cancel the doctor appointment and hook the trailer to the truck and get me some more pellets!

I'm feeling better already! >>

It's about 78 in the room with the stove. That usually keeps the other side of the house around 70. The rooms are very closed off. I havn't tried any fans yet but thinking about it to make the living room more comfortable (cooler).

I have a horrible room layout for a pellet stove. 2 story colonial. So main room with stove is set at 78. Rooms upstairs are about 70 and other 1st floor rooms are around 68-72. Would love to take down walls....

Third similiar post this year =)

I set the thermostat to 74-75 when it is 10* out, 77-78 down to -10 to -20s*, and 79-81 anything past -30*s.

Im a noob!

It's only because the far bedrooms get cold, the living room is always toasty.
What are the pellet prices in Alaska? Is there a pellet manufacturer there or do they haul them in? Just curious

I get asked this A LOT *_*

Local place makes decent pellets for 6$ a bag, Home depot sells blazer premiums for $5.38, Walmart/Sams WAS @ almost 6$ a bag, they just dropped to match home depots price. Lowes was at like 11$ a bag. So both.

72-74° with furnace (even temps).

72°-77° with Quad (Stove room is warmer than rest of house)
