Make sure they do a pre burn on that P43.... what brand pipe are you going to use ??

Well Im still deciding, I am planning on switching to ICC Excel, I have a few more tricks up my sleeve, this stove is beautiful, and I want to make it work. I ordered some 1/4 inch gasket material, and I am hoping a thicker gasket will help, along with new pipe. Selkirk is nice, but I do not trust there stove adapter. Thanks for letting me vent, it has been a long battle with this stove.

tell the techs to come on here and check our commentary.

really sucks they are not supporting you. you should try the Better Business Bureau.

good luck.
I told regency I would send them some emails of some of the problems that folks here have encountered, but he did not want to hear it.

Hearing this story underlines the importance of not just the product but also the service. I am so thankful now for my Englander and people like Mike. I have never heard of Englander claiming liability as a reason to not provide top notch service for their stoves. I am very sorry for your experience and hope it all works out. I am tempted to call and bltch for you! Just so they know their lack of service is getting talked about!

Holy crap.........you should not have to deal with this. 3K on this stove and nothing but problems. For what its worth I would sell the stove and go with the Harmon P43, I installed one of these stoves for my mother and they are nice. Simple stove, easy to clean, and man can they crank out some heat. I liked the stove so much I thought about switching to one, but I didn't want to move my Harmon accentra too heavy. Also go with the Icc pipe its easy to install and works great!! Good luck with whatever you decide!;)

Thanks for the support, the thing is it is a beautiful stove, and really is a workhorse. The reps want to portray me as a incompotent home owner who knows nothing. I know there different, but I worked in Hvac, as a technician on residential oil fired systems. I am familiar with products of combustion, and proper seals and venting, so they do not realize that they can not blow smoke up my pipe. Reading this forum, does help knowing that I am not the only one out there with problematic stoves, and less then stellar dealer support. I hate to go the option of selling the stove, cause I know I will take a loss, and since I am disabled and fairly young, things are a lot tighter then they use to be. If I was not sick, many would laugh but I would put this stove on my trucks, and take a drive to either Erics or scotts shop, and see what they could do for me, I wish we had the talent of those guys here in MD as dealers. So I will keep you updated, I was burning for a while during the recent cold snap, but did shut down to the smell. The thing is it is hard to describe the problems. There is no visual smoke that you see, but near the exhaust flange you get this strong combustion smell, and at times if you put your nose up to the left side of the heat exchanger the smell will burn your nose, so I know there is a problem, just trying to get it solved is the key. So anyways that is where I stand now, and I will let you know what the outcome is. Like I said I am really afraid of selling this thing because of the loss that I will take.
