Walked in to ask about what pellets they have he told me they have Clean Burn. I never heard of them but was told they were $9.00 a bag . Just laughed at him and left. OMG thats 450 a ton. are they crazy who in there right mind would pay that. Has anyone ever used these pellets? not like I am going to get them just curious.

$9.00 a bag....either joking, mistaken, or insane.
No I asked again to make sure he said $9.00 and they have to have it shipped there and he was not sure if I had to pay the shipping. I was cracking up and left. told him that they are insane.

I've never been to a reasonably priced Ace Hardware. Got 2 around me and I avoid them like the plague, whenever I can. Mine around me sells lignetics green labels for 250/ton and the Agway down the road sells them for 225

I once had an experience with Ace Hardware that I won't get into but needless to say I will never go into one of their hardware stores again.

$ 9.00 + shipping !!!

Dude....seriously....we're gonna need pics of this.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. When they're rolled out back in the spring, I hope management trips over em every time they walk by em.

I remember a thread last year about a Lowes in AK selling pellets for $11 a bag. Way to gouge your customers. Bet they were softies though ;)

For $9 a bag, they better load themselves into the hopper......clean the stove and pay the electric bill!!!!

Ace Hardware is the Cumberland Farms of hardware stores. If you need something, they're always open and maybe don't have what you want, but what you need, and man....do you ever pay for needing it.

Cumberland Farms near me has pretty good coffee and it's free on Friday
and a buck every other day.:)
My Ace has cream of the crap Lignetics for $279 a ton.

Local ACE doesn't carry pellets.. Can't get a good price on them..however I'd rather pay a little more for stuff at my locally/family run ACE Hardware

They dont stock them at mine but I asked if they sell them he brought it up on the computer and $9.00 a bag

Isn't $9 a bag cheap for Long Island?;) Maybe I'm thinking of The Hamptons.

No way if i could afford $9.00 a bag I could afford someone to load the hopper for me. and thats not happening

But they sell a Castle Pellet stove for $999 to store!

Our local Ace is pretty good. I've been buying pellets there for years. $225 a ton for AWP pellets which are made nearby. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful and their selection is surprisingly good. I'd rather go there than to Lowes. I guess ours is more of a mom and pop store.

$9 a bag? They must be charging that to pay for their crack habit.

I'm sure we'd all support a mom n pop over the boxes, but not for $9/bag or $450/ton. If they price everything that way they'll be working at the big box before long.

I checked out my local Agway in the Fall, can't remember the brand but that doesn't matter at $7/bag. Last time I bought a few bags from them a good 1/3 of the bag was saw dust. Brought the remaining bags back for a full refund.

It makes me laugh a local guy here has omalleys for 180 a ton, and another guy 20 mins away has them for 260 a ton. So I understand exactly where you are coming from. It amazes me the same brand of pellets price diffrence from store to store.
