Thanks in advance. I posted an earlier thread and I have been doing some shopping around for A woodstove to heat my insulated 800 sq ft. pole building. I think I have narrowed it down to these few, Please let me know which one you would pick.

buckstove FS21, timberwolf EPA 2200, lopi republic 1250, or lopi republic 1750.

I have electric heat in my building now that works great, but I miss the feel and looks of heating with wood as this is how we heat our home with A brunco 150. I donot use the building daily, we just have have some parties in there and I do some tinkering around.

Thanks again

How well is it insulated?

How high are the ceilings?

Are you looking to bring the place from 40's up to 60's in an hour, or would a few hours be acceptable?

It is insulated pretty good with 10ft high ceilings. I can use a propane torpedo to knock the chill off very quickly while I am building a fire, So it doesn't have to be instant. Thanks

I was going to say, if you want that thing to heat the place, and do it quickly, then you'd need to oversize the unit. W/ an oversize unit, once up to temp, you wouldn't be putting full loads of wood in.

If you have other options, and want to save some money on a new stove, and have a smaller footprint, then a small stove with a good viewing window would be advisable.

Also, depending on how much room you want to take up in this area, a stove with heat shields on 3 sides will give you closer clearances w/out building wall shields.

Just some stuff to think about. With so many good stoves on the market in a variety of price ranges and new/used available shortly, the sky really is the limit.

If it were me for a shop like this, and I wasn't in a hurry, I'd by using craigslist or talking to local stove shops about used units that they may have taken in on a trade where you might get a really good deal on a stove that would otherwise cost a pretty penny for what you are looking to do.

Just no matter what, don't be tempted to cutting any clearances in the manual of the stove you choose since it's partial use.

You will be fine with most of these choices. Given the small size of the space and if there will be a lot of body heat, I would also consider the Englander VL17. Nice fire view, close clearances and a very nice price.
