It's POSSIBLE, but not ADVISABLE. The "O" stands for OUTSIDE. That's where you must draw the COMBUSTION air from. There is too much of a chance that something giving off flammable gases can
be stored in a basement. You DO NOT want that in your combustion air. That spells BOMB.

Not to mention that the air still has to come from the outside. If you have your OAK pulling from the basement, then it is still going to create a draft into the house from crevices and pull outside air inside. It will really solve nothing other than satisfy those people who enjoy the musty smell of basements.

so what we're saying is if I install an outside air kit I'm not gonna be pulling in from all the cracks and crevices through the windows through the doors it'll just be pulling from the outside and heat my house better?
