Hi All!
Long time stalker...finally my turn to ask a question.
Our ignitor went out today while we were gone and of course we are expecting a snowstorm and the local store isn't open on Sunday. My question, If we light the stove manually and turn the temp up a bit more than we normally would, will it run on a low setting all night to keep us warm and avoid waking to relight? This works in theory in my head, but I was looing for real advice, not imaginary.
Thanks!!
Michelle

sure it will . you didn't say what stove you had , but just switch it to manual or hi/low and your good to go .

oh and Welcome :)

definitely... I generally just run on low and set the thermostat at a high temp that I know it will not get to. I adjust the feed rate a bit when I go to bed same as letting the temp drop on the thermostat. On/Off cycling doesnt work to well in my house.

It will shut down every so many hours to autoclean, unless you have the battery backup and unplug the power cord and let it run on battery.

the old non ae mt vernon can be started without the igniter. just use a propane torch or map gas torch. you can also get gel alchohol fire starter. mix some in with about 1/3 cup pellets and dump in pot then light. ive also used isopropyl alcohol the same way but that is highly frowned upon on this forum.
