So my Englander (25 PDVC/ 55 trp-10) has been making a screeching sound like i am cutting wood with a hand circular saw--please give me some input advice-ideas-thoughts.....Thanks! ;?

BTW- meant to mention - happening just the past 2 days

When my stove makes any strange sounds that are louder than normal, I usually tear it apart and clean everything. May not be the answer, but this is always my first attempt to shut her up!! If that doesn't work, the guys and gals on here have always found a solution to my problem. Good luck!

Check for carbon buildup around the end of the auger tube.

I did and do every day- thanks

I actually scrape that lower feed auger area with knife to get carbon off-----not that in my case I do not think tough---hmm?

Bearing going out in a fan? Is it while the room air fan is running or when the stove is warming up and just the exaust fan running? I've heard that kinda noise in a exaust fan when it had a bad impeller(owner stuck the cleaning rod in to far and screwed it up)

its usually when stove is up an drunning- both fans/augers working- but not only when upper-feed auger moves- so i doubt its the top feed auger hmm?

If your brave you could start unplugging motors one at a time till your irritant disappears.

Not that Brave lol  by the way- i see in your signature u use Penn for spills-lol can I use pellets for cat litter? p.s. a real question as they r cheaper than litter in NY lol

When mine does that, the circular saw noise, I take the top auger out and put hi-temp grease in it.

I got the 25PDV, the bigger stove. Many friends around where I live have Englander products. The periodic chain saw sound in almost all cases is the upper auger moter. Disconect and remove the auger moter from the pellet auger, carefully unscrew the casing, spritz some hi-temp grease and you're done. I usually then swap the top and bottom auger moters. It's kinda like tire rotation. PM if you need more info.
