Due to weather, had off from work yesterday. Decided to hit up a new stove shop in town. The first stove is a monster. I forget what it's called. It's firebox is 4.5 cubic feet! F'ing beast. Because my setup is conducive to an insert, I really liked the Hampton HI300 Majolica brown. First, I love the finish. Second, I like that it protrudes onto the hearth. Although my stove is only 2 seasons old, I wish I went with a cast outer finish that protrudes onto the hearth for more heat output. I was not impressed with the firebox size of the flush, arched fireplace type stove in pic 4. Way to small. Beautiful shop by the way.

I believe it is. The box can handle something like 90 lbs. of wood.

Wow, are those stoves there sitting on glass? Yes I think the first one was the Regency 5100 Hybrid. I'd love to see that in action!

Ya know, not sure. Think it might be a plexiglass. Nonetheless, still not the proper setup.

I looked into a glass hearth pad. Morso makes them as well as other I'm sure. Its not just glass but acrylic. In right set up they look great. More European styling. I'm not sure of R-value but my Morso stove needs very little for R-value for floor. Double heat shield.

What about dropping an ember on them? Are they actually approved as hearths? Thanks.

Reppinger, your like 5 min from me. What kind of stove?
Right now an old BIS 1.2 but I will be ripping that out in a month or 2. Which is why I was in the shop. Not sure what I am getting yet.
