Shut the stove down around noon to do my weekly cleaning. It was warm in here when I turned it back on when I was done and it didn't start right away. Several hours later I heard it start but didn't think anything of it. A little later I happened to notice a lot of smoke in my backyard so I went and checked the stove. !!! Holy chit!!! There was a lot of smoke and flames coming out from BEHIND my burn pot. WTF! I use a hammer and screwdriver to chisel carbon out of the burnpot, did I crack it? Or did I cause a gap to open up? Is the hopper on fire? After several anxious minutes of checking and observing, I finally noticed that I didn't get theflame guide seated properly. The fire and smoke just appeared to be behing the burn pot. Lesson learned.

Ahhh!!! Anything that contains fire should scare us.

It's a healthy fear of fire that keeps us (Hearth members ;)) safe and stoves that operate as they should.

Glad it all worked out. Lesson learned :) ain't gonna do that again.
