I Have a 500 gallon horizontal propane tank set up for storage. I have never hooked it up and have been running without it for a few years now. It sits there just waiting. Here's the problem, I need to put another bathroom in this house and that tank is in the way. I need to take it vertical but cant because there isn't the clearance for it. So I am looking for a tank I can put in vertically, possibly a 250-300 gallon propane tank.I would be interested if anyone on here has something I could use and would be willing to part with my tank.

Have you considered digging a bit of a pit in order to make room to stand the 500 vertical? Depending on your heat load 250-300 gallons of storage may be on the ragged edge of not being worthwhile to install...
Thought about it but don't want the hole in the concrete floor. I've been running without storage for 3 years now anyway and my heat load isn't huge. I have a small ranch style home.
I wonder if you hired a good welder(if your not) and cut one of the ends off. Then flipped that end cap 180, insert the domed end into the rest of the tank, then re-weld the cap to the tank. that might shorten it up about 17 inches.. still have 450 or so gals. of storage..
If you went that route you could actually shorten it to your desired height. x2.. make a second one identical an place them side by side.. might be a small enough foot print to still allow the for the newly framed room..??
