You need to visit Alaska. We love the fishing thing too :)

Around 0 last night, got to 22° today.
Storm coming , to be near 40° by Friday

I watch every freaking show made in alaska, real or not. Yukon men, alaska the final frontier, ice loggers etc. I just love it.

Yes but I can do without the language. They all seem to be crooks or sheisters as well. You know, always trying get one over on someone.

Dave I reluctantly liked your post, the pictures are admittedly very nice, but it`s just that I`m so sick of seeing snow that it was a little harder to click that button than it should have been.
Most of our snow is melted now, but we had some record snow accumulation this winter, the most we've had since we've been in this house and yard, and I`ve come to realize just how much snow our steep metal roofed house can shed, the results are frightening.!!!

So, please post some spring photos of your stacks at your earliest connivance. ;)

Beautiful! You're living on a postcard. Nice wood stacks. 1 piece of wood is sticking out

I didnt know there was THAT much wood in alaska:) How many cords do you go thru in a season?

LOL, Alaska has virgin timbered natioal forests bigger than most lower 48 states :)

Varies with the winters & how many days below zero.
With the BK catalytic 5.5 has been the least, just over 6.5 the most.

SO it looks like you have a 10+ year supply there. I would surmise a good woodstove is a valuable commodity in a place where heat(or lack of it) could be a matter of life and death. Any heating appliance that uses electricity would be pretty useless without it. WE have some friends in Yellowknife and it gets scary cold there. THey have oil heat. Yikes!!!!
