Just noticed I hadn't seen BrowningBAR in a while. Someone else mentioned the disappearance of Quads. I see BAR has posted only once since Mar.3, and Quads not since last November.

There was some discussion about quads, I think he had a lot of things going on that took up his time away from here. Others tend to drop out after the heating season. I know that I will spend less time online in summer in general and the time I do will be more on the old house sites and rc hobby sites.

This is a delicate subject and not intended to offend anyone...but-

I have always thought about people reporting their "close calls" with accidents and health related issues. Just what if someone (God forbid) didn't make it through a close call or health issue?? I know that many of the members post comments about the rest of their family members not understanding what the attraction is about Hearth.com and couldn't care less about it and can't understand why so much time is spent on here. So, that being said, just how would we know if something happened to a member?

was just thinking of Browning Bar & his point blank responses

hope all is well and they have just found better things to.

Cheers all

We do know that quads got into taking pictures hot and heavy and it seems like he may have said something about getting on a different forum that was for pictures but I don't remember for sure. I do remember I had some PM's from him after he had quit posting and all was well with him then. I think it is a case of what he is doing. If you think about what he was normally posting about, that is, the farm and wood cutting. Now he no longer has the farm nor does he have that place to cut wood so perhaps he just did not feel he had any more to contribute. We still miss him and his posts though.

As for Dave's thought, that is always a possibility but we'll never know and I prefer to think more positive. Even I get off the forum from time to time, like when I crew for Race Across America. Seems I was off for around a month a couple times in the past few years. Not doing it this year though.

Are you saying that people have "other" interests besides cutting, stacking and splitting wood? Heresy I say!!!

The implication that people tend to drift off in summer is amusing, when applied to BrowningBAR. He's one of those hard-core year-round residents.

My problem is I have so many interests (jack of all trades, master of none syndrome) that when something interesting comes along, I research it to death (kind of like having a butterfly fly pass me - off I go). So I will, from time to time take off for a few months. I am a member of sites that I haven't gone to in months, even years, until my interest is re-kindled.

I would imagine that sometimes other more pressing issues will keep someone occupied elsewhere also.
However, in my case, this site and arboristsite are on my speed dial in Firefox.

Ive seen Browning wander away for months at a time before and come back. I will probably disappear for the summer soon myself. Too many house projects to do and vacations, etc.

I hope all is well with those fellas. I haven't been around as much lately either. I read the forum but don't post much. Sometimes, things happen in life that diverts your attention in other directions. I am going to think positive. Hopefully BBar and Quads are just preoccupied with other things.:)

BBar is doing workouts at the gym for the next stove move and insulating like crazy between times. Quads is in the Cayman Islands setting up an account for the auction haul, while trying to herd his relative cats.

Heck I will see dozens of ya go away for the summer and pop back up in September.

With my lack of being here I suspect you all were wondering what I have been up to...

Wait....sorry, got this place mixed up with my gym.

Such as Pook? ;) :)

Ahhh Pook... I missed him so much once he was gone that I created an alter-ego and put up some "Pook tribute posts." MAAAAAAAAAAGIC HEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT ;lol That is until Craig banned me and I fessed up-it took him a while to "un-ban" me though because the IP addresses where I work were all sorts of complicated... Good thing he has a sense of humor ;)
