My poulan has been giving me trouble and i wanted a smaller saw anyways so i did a little research. It was between an ms170 & a husky 235. The 235 got terrible reviews so I headed down to the stihl dealer (about 300 yards from my house ). In & out in a few minutes and I was the proud owner of a brand spankin new ms170. Now I know a saw like this isnt exciting to a lot of you pros but its my first stihl and im plenty happy with my purchase :)

I took it home and put cut up a few sweetgum rounds that were a tad long. Im loving this saw its performing very well for such a small saw

Some pics after I got it home:

Nice saw.
Nice set up.
Will last many years. Nice light weight saw that fits your needs. ;)

I have an MS180. These little saws are nothing to scoff at. they won't run 25'' bars, but they are great for small stuff and nice and easy to handle. Congratulations and good luck with it.

I was using mine today doing some yard cleaning & brush burning. Really a nice handling saw. It's doing OK so far with it - but when it comes time to replace my bar I might see what I can do to get one that's less 'spindly' looking. Hard to go wrong at that price - great value for sure.

Cool idea! Recently cracked a similar container, now I won't pitch it.
Congrats on the saw, enjoy responsibly ;)

Good deal - enjoy! I also like the tote idea - cut a slit and use as a chainsaw carrier - I have a old plastic postal service tote that might be just perfect - good thinking! Cheers!

I must say the smaller the saw the more the back will thank you, and that is a + to alot of us.
White & orange will grow on you :)
Enjoy !

Yep... I bought one, after owning several Pro Saws. It's light weight and it does cut Much BETTER than I expected :) pretty happy with it.

Should serve you for years.

I'm still loving this saw its a joy to use! Now I've got my eyes on a 390 on CL for cheap. The little guy needs a bigger brother right?
