Saw an ad on craigslist this afternoon for a moving sale a few miles away and one of the photos had what looked to be a good size saw in it. I've already got enough wood for years and between the 180c and 036 I haven't met anything I couldn't cut, but I figured it was best to take a ride over anyhow.

Gentleman had a decent looking 660 magnum with 32" bar... started up in a few pulls, idles nice, but the chain was too dull to really cut much. He did let me take the [stock] muffler off and take a look at the piston, which looked pretty mint.

After a bit of talking I ended up bring it home with six extra chains for $450. Air filter was a bit dirty but the plug looked good and it pulled 160 psi.

Can't wait to go cut some wood!

Still some good life left in these...

New big saw with now medium saw...

Great deal & score. ! ! ;ex

Some one was looking for a chain storage system.
Could you give a couple pictures of the chains & the rack .

Definitely some sharpening to do before you make chips fly ::P
Nice pics.

Nice score! That is a beast of a saw there. I have the same MS180 / 036 lineup now and I agree that it is a good one. Add the 660 and you are nearly invincible! Good luck with it.

Oops, sorry about that, fixed it.

I will get some more pics of the chain holder but it's basically just one board set against another with a little handle cut into top.

Dang, heck of a deal on that saw. :)

Can't argue with that as a three saw plan :) And the 660 is a great way to dispose of any fuel that's getting a little old.

Stole that sucker. Congrats.

WOW, IM so jealous. I want a 660 too, lol I should save an extra $500 and just be on the look out for one, might take a year to find a deal but its possible.
160psi & mint piston, too cool. I'd like to hear your thoughts about it once you get a real chance to use it. The only saw I have ever really used is a ms441 and wow, it had so much power, amazing, now a 660, it must feel like a Ferrari in your hands...

I'd put a few bucks aside and watch for a 026. They can be had cheap and are very handy. Big saws are fun but the little saws are just as useful.

I actually wanted a 440 when I bought my 660 but the dealer sold the 660 to me for less than what I would have paid if I ordered the 441. Since I already had a smaller saw I figured why not?

Air filter was a bit dirty

It doesn't take long to get the air filter dirty on that saw.

$450 for a 660....... What a steal!!!

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to CAD ;)

That's because you don't live where the EPA controls the size of the holes in your muffler. And fines anyone who sells a tool to adjust your carb.

Here are some more pics of the chain rack. They still seem to get snagged among each other so I will probably just put a nail in the wall and hang them up.

Got a chance to test it out this AM. A few observations...

1. This thing is heavy. The 180c is a toy and the 036 is quite comfortable carry around in the woods and use all day, but you have to seriously lug around the 660/32". Thinking I might swap in the 20" from the 036 and give that a go.

2. This thing is thirsty. It takes what seems like a quart of oil and a gallon of gas.

3. This thing is serious. I had the entire bar buried in the crotch of a white oak and it didn't even slow down.... just kept right on cutting. It's like the 180c cutting a 4" limb or the 036 cutting a 16" branch, except it's a 30" trunk. Nice to get the big stuff in one shot.

4. I need some bigger trees to cut. Behind my house is a pretty mature forest and there are some big ones out there, it's just a matter of time before mother nature does her thing so I can do mine.

5. I probably didn't need this saw. But hey, it was a good deal and will be nice to have on the occasions I use it.

Impressive!
Use the 660 all day, build muscles ,

At the price you got it for, not many of us could pass up the deal.
Could flip it for a profit pretty quick too.

Nice to be able to tackle anything that comes your way now without hesitating, isn't it? ;)

Nice looking saw and a great deal! It'll be nice to have around just in case

That is a steal my man! Congrats, and a cold beer for you.
