Harbor Freight chain sharpener

Do the right & left cutters look different lengths ?
Angle/s of the grind look the same
I file, but lots here have grinders.

Check the cutter lengths with calipers or a small crescent wrench. Adjust the grinder as necessary to even them out.

I have 4 chains in my rotation right now and have only sharpened each 2-3 times on the HF grinder, so don't know yet what will develop over time.
That said I do notice I have to re-adjust every time I flip a chain over. Do you adjust the tooth-stop and grind depth every time?
I'm just wondering if the adjustments will make the chain more even or less even over it's lifetime.

It's not the grinder, it's the operator. It is easier to grind one side of the chain so that side gets more taken off with each sharpening and eventually you end up with quite a difference in cutter lengths if you aren't aware of this human tendency.

No, you don't need to make any adjustments other than the major 25 degree setting.

If the stops are set both sides will be the same. Back side is harder to see but again if you have the stops set right its going to be the same on both sides. Take a good look at your stops!

Chain sharpener no gadget it the real deal. It has big advantages over hand filing, and hand filing has some big advantages to. Do both well and your set. Even if there a couple 1000 drive links that needs done. Don't forget the one that hit the metal inside the wood.
