gonna haul the splitter there. I will cut it to about 16 inches. I have a few lawn service accounts in the neighborhood. Her insurance paid to have it felled. The tree company said it ould be another 300 to remove stump and I think she just pocketed the money. Im gonna try to hit her for 200. No one else is willing to tackle it for free

That's reminiscent of the monster Pin Oak I posted about a couple of years back. 71" where they cut it, about 65" DBH. The trunk is still there, and probably will be for thirty years.

Watch for nails etc
I hate cutting anything within 100 yards of a house for that very reason. I think i may go to the fire dept and get a rescue saw. Nails dont even slow it down

Yep, look for "black and blue" streaks in the end grain of the log.....that's a tell-tale for iron or steel. Now stainless steel, not sure if that would leave any streaks (I'm thinking NOT). One thing's for sure.....there's gonna be a lot of "uglies" from the top couple rounds on that log!
It won't hurt to ask for a hundred or so for doing the removal of that stump. There's some hard work involved in that puppy!

I guarantee you if that were a log that I was working, that I would DEFINATELY be noodling the top couple of rounds, for sure.....NOODLE IT !!
