And it's cold enough to light a fire. Thought I was done for the season, but no.

Memorial Day weekend and I'm out scrounging for firewood for TODAY not next winter....

Forecast for here in RI is a low of 38 to 40...guess it could worse, at least I'm not in the Berkshires with snow possible/likely.

Oh yeah, and 90 byt the end of this coming week.....

Got a problem finding dry wood here....everything pretty much wet....gotta dig deep into the stacks<>

Frost warning tonight. Again. I was boating this time last year. Major bummer.

Crazy! We had a cold front come through on Wed., but not that bad.

40 ish in Icey Hollow tonight.

Damn it

Yeah, I had a fire today, too. I'm actually probably going to light another one in a little while. This spring has been ridiculous.

Same here in NE Ohio, frost and small fire last night, same again tonight, the lake beach opened today and you could have picked a prime spot... not one person was there to beat you to it. ::-)

My favorite part of this pic is the stack of super cedars in the bucket.

;lol ...........Reminds me of the stack of toilet paper rolls in a bucket I've seen in some peoples bathrooms

I don't recommend wiping with super cedars.

Looks like one more night for a fire.

But, I have said this before

Me too. We expect a low of around 40* by us. Maybe a quick hot fire tonight, or maybe just a quick one in the morning. But by tomorrow afternoon we're in the low to mid 70s.

It was a little chilly today, but didn't keep us from doing what we planned. We spent the day on the north fork; bought some plants, let the boys run around on one of the play areas at the organic farm.

It was nice having the day off. First day off in 14 days. In the past two weeks I worked around 180 hours total. The slow pace of the north fork of LI always helps calm my soul. I took two naps today too.

The North Fork is awesome. It's where I want to be.

Woo Hooo for you... 2 naps

The temp outside doesn't warrant it but I just lit off a sympathy fire for you guys. We will be back in the 90s in a couple of days.

One more burn before I go up and clean the chimney before the roofers show up to rip the top off of this sucker.

We'll be smoking by next weekend *grabs window units from the closets*

I think I'll build one tonight, right before bed. Past two mornings it was 64 degrees in the house. She wasn't nagging, but she DEFINATELY was 'finessing' me to build one. I was gonna try and hold out (I would, if it was up to me). But I'll cave in for her, just because I love her.....==c

Both stoves running... damp as Hades (I know, I know !!!)

At this rate, I'll have to bring fire wood in.

And this was my year for no fire wood in the house over the summer, and a repaint of the fire wood ring that stores it >>
