Hi, I am thinking of installing an owb and am looking at the EKO 25. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with dealing with the distributor New Horizon. Warranty issues or problems getting parts? I am also looking at the econo burn but the price is much higher. I appreciate any thoughts. Thanks, clg

Welcome CLG,

Type in the search eko 25 also New horizon. Enjoy hours of reading! You can also check out the sticky about fine tuning at the top.

Clg, in a nut shell EKO are really good boiler, they are the ford fiesta of boilers now. Once you figure them out they are great. As far as New horizon.......dont expect a ton of help from zennon. As far as parts from him yeah he is good at getting you the right parts. If you need advice on anything about the boiler and how to run it just come here. There is a lot of EKO users here with the been there done that advice for you. I will say it right now DRY DRY DRY WOOD ONLY!!!!!!!! after that it is easy !

Ford Fiesta? Sheesh. Can't we at least be a pickup truck or something slightly more useful even without the latest bluetooth, wifi and air conditioned seats?

I'd prefer think of our EKO's as a nice solid 70's Ford F150. It may not be the most attractive, there is no CD player, yes it runs on points, no EFI, it smokes a little when you start it but it will run forever with minimal maintanence.

...Lets not wish it was a 70's ford or we will be looking for a good welder soon!!! LOL

In my Opinion the eko is tough to beat - bang for the buck. I wanted to buy a Garn but if I dumped $20 grand into a set up the return would have been many years out- might as well buy oil. I'm happy with the eko, dry wood is important. Good luck!

I was thinking more of the Ford 300 6 cylinder. Very comparable the the slant 6 as far as reliability. The Fiesta was a trooper though.

Go with Mark from Ahona. At least then you can understand him. He is very good to work with and prices are most likely the same.

I have an EKO 25. They are a fussy boiler, moslty cause wood is just not as dry as we think it is. I dry my wood for 2 years and keep it outside. My neighbor told me if I build a wood shed I will notice the difference in burn quality if it's put in the wood shed for a few years. I will find out in a few months and sure it will make a difference. DRY WOOD! . It's an easy boiler to run though once ya get used ot it. I have one problem wit it and that the temperature on the boiler is wacked out and the temp flucuates by 20 - 50 degrees. If it hits 203 it goes into E2 mode and shuts the boiler down. This and the fact that it's almost impossible to give the turbulators a good manual cleaning . Other than that I have 4 yrs in and just them 2 problems.

I agree, I bought my EKO 60 from Mark as well and storage... Great people! He's there after the sale 100% and one smart man! Dry wood is key!
