I was chatting with a friend that manages a tree service the other day and asked him if they had any logs they wanted to get rid of. New Md laws wont allow them to store logs with mulch so a lot of the tree companies that dont fool with firewood just throw the logs at the dump. I said I would take an hard wood he had so yesterday a big dump shows up and drops off some nice oak ! He said he will keep bringing logs till i cry "uncle"

yeah it looks like a branch - im getting more today if the rain holds out ! The shed behind it is 20L X 12D X 10H to give you a reference of the size of the pile of wood. Im working on another shed soon at least the same size may be bigger to put splitter in.

I just talked with a tree guy who said the same thing. I tried to get him to dump here at my place but Im too far from his work area. He told me he doesnt want his trucks on the road. No distance travel. He dumps his trees at a local dump. Told me its too much aggravation to deal with the public (by advertizing on craigslist) Hes too busy and keeps all his work very local.
Its a great way to pick up wood if you can. Better means of renewable energy.

I need to get a friend like that across the bay here in southern maryland

Nice score
& you can be picky with wood types ?

I have a couple ad tree companies dumping for me. I told them I would take the mulch too if they kept it separate. Mulch is great around the property too. If you look over the stack you can se the pile of wood. I have a big old school boiler that burns lots of wood. Got it cuz I have mostly soft wood on our property
I have hired a guy to split and stack the small16" and less to sell then use the money I make to pay him to do my own wood. I have to small kids and run my own business and just don't have the time to split right now. I would much rather be splitting my own wood than working any day but its not enough to pay the bills YET! It is awesome that I don't barly have to cut the wood at deal with the branches or transport it any more. Bring it on!
