The Big move

After 12 hours, 200 miles of driving, $100.00 in fuel, I brought home 5 dump loads of split wood. A good friend of mine has a tree service and brings me wood here and there for free. A lot of it is cut to 18" or so even though I cut mine at 21". He drops it at my dads place that is about 3-4 miles from his place. Today he let me use his small dump truck to move the wood. My dad has a Ford 340 with a loader bucket. So we would fill the bucket then dump it in the truck. I left my house at 6:30 am to drive to his place, got the truck and started to work. I would say the is a good cord of wood in each load. I have one more load split, but I was just to damn tried to load it tonight. Plus I have to stack it all yet. I will call my chips in with a bud that I help out a lot the last few weeks. Im set for the next 2-3 years in my book. Frank

most of the wood was cut last fall early spring and split through the spring summer. The wood is about 95%ash some oak, mulberry and elm. When I go back to dads place, I will take some pictures of the monster oak that he brought over. I bet it's 3' diameter.
