Ah damn, sorry to hear. They wouldn't have anything else ready before the burning season? Was there a mistake that they didn't have one like you wanted waiting since you made the trip there?

You can't light a fire in that. It's furniture!

Only kidding,,,,, they absolutely had what I wanted....In fact I had 4 charcoal ones to select from, then Maribeth and I ran around and grabbed different top stones so we could match the stone on the stove sides to our liking.. They are very cool people and to let you do that.. We had a ball over there today.. Jamie was just showing us they will do what ever a customer wants in color,, so these people wanted a gold stove and they got it... To each there own...

Maribeth is looking over the stones to match our stove sides...Trip to Woodstock 013.JPG

Mike is checking over my stove before he packs it up,,,thanks Mike!

Great!

Makes me want to visit them again.
I really had fun this time... Guess because of talking over the phone and finally going back getting to actually visit once again.. It's really a pleasure to have such nice people involved with something you love to do,,, heat with wood... and I keep forgetting, that now I'll have a second stove with a cook top besides my Esse... Sweet ! Boy the PH is a big boy compared to the Fireview after seeing them side by side...I'm thinking the wife and I will get it right back on the hearth like I got the Fireview down... Today while at Woodstock I made sure I could lift the stove up on one side while it was on it's pallet so the wife could slip wood underneath when it comes time to shim the crate to remove my dolly.. So being able to lift the stove , my plan will work.. Wow what a big draft opening on the back,,, looks like PH can really produce quite the start up draft if needed...

A few pictures of the factory.. Loads of Fireviews built and ready to ship... Quite a few PH's as well.. I was told the PH's are now for the first time out selling the Fireview... Saw the Union at it's test station running with just a bed of coals.. Nothing new as far as for pictures... One thing I learned is that the side legs will be adjustable. So one set of legs will allow various installation heights. That is a monster stove in person...Big! Got to see the new screen for the PH along with the secondary top redesign,,,forgot to take pictures;sick.. I was also shown where the smoke smell came from on a few stoves.. That was a simple as not over tightening some screws on assembly.. Now that area is checked with a straight edge as things are tightened.. All in all they a great people , openly discussing what's going on with their stoves.. It's really a very cool thing that they are willing to be that open with the general public... That's why I bought another stove from them.. I think they will always have loyal customers as they are loyal to the people who buy their stoves...Another thing they are doing is really designing the Union and future builds to be way ahead of stricter emission requirements coming.. So at some point you may see a number of stove companies fold in the future where as Woodstock is going above and beyond on the emission standards, they'll still be a thriving company.. I learned a lot today....

I love these pics. Thanks Charlie.
Is that last set of the PH? I thought they were built with soapstone in a CI frame. That looks like a steel box which the stones are then attached to.
Enlighten me, please.

+1:)

That is correct for the PH.
CI frame is how the Fv and Keystone are made.

Those gas stoves are really tempting for a bedroom application. For ambiance.
I'm looking to get one to heat my basement family room and then use the Keystone for full time primary heat on the main level.

Charlie, I agree about the adjustable legs; I had talked with Tom about that and it is good as it will allow adjustment for different installations. I wish they all had it.

Did they get the shipping road open again? Here is what it looked like on the 4th.

btw, I really like that gold stove. Our next one might be like that.

Sound like a very enjoyable visit! :)

I don't see me going anywhere else any time soon.... >>

I was going to suggest my SIL, who is a faux artist. She would have been reasonable but the travel costs would have been steep. ;lol

I liked the gold stove too! LOL! But it was almost a work of art that needed to be in a museum.

I can't wait to get up there and get "mine" :) !! I will give Jaime a call this week and discuss my delivery.

Will it please stop raining, enough of these washed out roads! I was up in Lebanon the other day with a couple of my riding buddies, and we stopped in at the 4Aces. I got to talking to the counter waiter, and asked him if he knew of Woodstock. ...and he starts telling me about the VC plant over in Bethel VT. So I say "nooooo" it's on the airport road right here in Lebanon". ,,and all of a sudden his eyes make a mental connection and he says "OH! so that's where these guys come from that bring these scrap pieces of soapstone!" Apparently the guy "carves" soapstone as a hobby and someone from the plant brings him small reject scraps.

But, enough of my motorcycle adventures, I will be up there soon taking the tour and discussing my delivery. I am going to be stylin' this winter!! and enjoying the Fireview!!

Just make sure you have dry wood,,, get a moisture meter, split open your wood and check it... if it's not dry, your going to be very disappointed with the Fireview. Otherwise you'll love it!

Way to go charly love the pics !

I had a great time over there.. What a great atmosphere... Got to see their new water jet machine.. They're going to do all the steel for the PH in house.. I betting the Hybrid steel as well... I mentioned to make some nice stove trivets that say Woodstock with a nice design.. They can also cut the soapstone as well. I believe Jamie said it will cut up 6 inches of steel...Another nice tool for Woodstock, letting them have in house quality control... Boy what we need is for Woodstock to have a nice open house for the Union so I can finally get to go to one... I would love to meet people from here...
