I also live in Kennewick, and have been shopping around for pellets.

Bleyhl in Pasco carries bear mtn year round and I believe they said 237 a ton

Ranch and Home carries Beat Mtn, North Idaho, Lignetics, and I think Blazer, they didn't have prices yet.

I checked at Fire and Water in Richland. They had Golden Fire for 350 a ton.

Artic land ice carries Clean Burn for 220 a ton.

I plan on trying a few bags of Bear mtn, Clean burn, and Blazer.

Everything I have been reading I think the ton I will probably end up with either be Bear mtn or Clean burn.

I don't know if the farm store on Clearwater carries pellets or not. Haven't had a chance to check.

This will be my my first season with a pellet stove, so I can not say. But what everyone says is buy a couple of bags of different pellets and see how they work in the stove then buy a ton.

What I have read is that you can not go wrong with Bear Mtn.

There is a Ranch and Home in Pasco. They distribute Bear Mt and Blue Mt Wood Natural Glow. Both are excellent pellets. I burn Blue Mt because they are locally produced, therefore less expensive.

in southeast wa state what pellets should I be looking at????

Bear Mountain and/or Golden Fire are good pellets (same company). I have burned Bear Mountain for years. I live in Western Washington and they go for $207/ton on sale at Coastal Farm & Ranch. My last batch (3 tons) were longer than they used to be. I no longer buy them.

I found a better brand, Pacific Pellets, made in Redmond, Oregon. These burn just as hot as bear Mountain but have way less ash and I have yet to have any clinkers. The lengths have been consistent also. I don't know if they have them in your area. From their wed site it looks like a distributor will be opening up soon in Boise, Idaho. I get mine at a local hardware store (McLendons) but unfortunately for me they don't have them on sale until September. The price is right, $195/ton.

Once upon a time I did burn Clean Burn but you couldn't give me them now. I wouldn't touch them. They are a larger diameter than what I have seen in most pellets plus the lengths are long, consistently. For my old stove that puts more stress on my auger breaking them up and I've already played that game.

I tried a few bags of Blazers a few years ago but I didn't think they burned very hot. I know some folks really like them.

You'll probably have to try several brands to see which works best for you.
