I got a killer deal on a bunch of soapstone, so I decided to line my fireplace with it. I hope it will soak up the heat pretty good. I don't need it for heat and don't expect much but I thought it would be a neat project. There is about 500 pounds of stone and refractory cement in it.

I like it , one benefit is, I bet it will clean up easily in the off-season a lot better than my brick lined one.

Looks great! Trouble is once you feel the nice even heat that soapstone maintains,,, well ,,,,, we might be seeing a stove in your place with the same material.....;)

Looks great Webby, let us know how it works...

Even if it doesn't do squat as far as heat, it looks top notch.

Well done.

Oh, it's in the works. Should be putting it sometime in September!

What?? Bored with the Cod already?? ;)
The deer must be really thick up there; They're comin' thru the walls! ==c

Very nice webby.
My question is....what's the CTC for dear heads.:p
I'll have to check on that!
The room is wider than it looks in the pictures, it's about 11' wide. The mantel is a red Oak log, 8' long.

Very nice, love the mantle!

That's a nice change. I like the new look.

I like that a lot,

Thanks! I have at least this much left over, I'm always looking for another soapstone project!
