Responded to a add today that has been popping up for a while that said free firewood that was right off the road they were clearing a lot. I was reluctant because there were no pics but I went anyways after talking to him very nice guy said ppl had taken about 40 truck loads so far and I bet there must be over 80 still there. It turned out to be a 50 mile round trip for me but I got a full S-10 load and may go back after work a few days this week. Sorry no pics of the lot did not think to bring the camera.

Hope to have 7 cord by the end of the year. Don't plan to start burning for another year or two looking to secure a pellet stove for this year and to suppliment my wood heat once I start burning.

Looks like a good mix and a nice haul.. Time to get a trailer for the S-10 to increase your haul!!!

Devin, you did just fine. As you no doubt have already learned, soft maple and ash split really nice. Both also have the tendency to dry faster than most other woods. But get them split ASAP because they won't dry much until you do that. Then they can give you some great heat.

Devin, that there is a quality score. Shame you didn't have a bigger bed, or a trailer. I'd say get more if you can.

You'll be into "Cord Hoarder" territory (on the Scotty Overkill scale) by the end of the year!

Nice score! Ditto on the trailer...

Unless those rounds are bigger than I think you should be able to get more per load than that, ESP if its newer with stronger springs.

Well I lucked into this pile of wood from a local that had his property timbered only 4 miles from the house so the stack will be growing in my poor trucks defense it has been jumped A Ton in 4wd all the tires off the ground it has led a hard life and is shot the rounds seem to be pretty heavy as well. This is what I came back with tonight

Hope to split and stack this weekend

Wow Devin that's quite a load in the little S/10. I have one also and they are durable for sure. I'm getting a trailer for mine to at least save the springs.

That's what I'm talkin about ,4 mi  and U hit the jack pot , wow great

That load looking g from the left it a load!! Your springs are better than mine! I have a short bed ranger with a tool box in it. So basically 4 ft of bed and I squat with that filled.

Guy said he has been trying to give it away for two years and only one guy has came and taken 1 load for camp fires it is a score for sure!

Good score. ESP only 4 miles from you.

I got a 028 from DexterDay and it has really been running well but I will without a doubt be looking to step into the 70cc class very soon. And I have already been shopping trailers.

Nice score! Glad you found a close source- I try to keep my old s10 close when loaded to the gills. Kudos for getting set with wood first before installing your stove.
