i'm looking to try these this year. I've never burned either. Everyone seems to love 'em both.

price is the same.

I generally prefer softwoods.... but I heard the turman's are unlike most hardwoods.

Thoughts?

There's a discount for ordering 4 of the same, otherwise i'd try 2 of each.

I've burned both, I think they are both good, it's like steak or lobster too bad you can't split the order.

Pretty much the same...slight edge to Turmans in my opinion. I too am a fan of the softwoods and believe even the best hardwoods are a step below the best softwoods

If there is a discount for four tons, and you want to order two of each, and the dealer does not give you the discount on the technicality that you are not doing all four of the same, then THAT dealer must be an ass. Maybe its worth asking. ;)

I've burned both, although it's been a few years since I burned Barefoots. I liked the Turman better. I don't understand what the dealer is gaining by not allowing a split order, he still has to deliver to your house, what does it matter what you're buying, as long as you're buying 4 ton? If you must only order 1 kind, my vote would be Turman.

don't sell Barefoots, so its not me! anyhow, we don't really know what the profit picture is for this particular dealer, so cant really comment on the WHY of the 4 ton thingy....how about maybe this outfit picks up from a reload or warehouse, and said warehouse might only have one brand....so, would logistically be more work to do a split order? Im just guessing here.....as for discounts, even though no one ever seems to believe this, there is only so much wiggle room in pellet profits.......

The beer I was drinking impaired my deductive reasoning skills last night. I suspect the dealer in question already replied, and my guess is there won't be a problem dividing up the 4 tons!

Thanks scott. :p i'm trying to decide what I want to burn this year. I've mostly dealt with BT in the past, simply because they are right down the street from me. but now that my truck is dead, i'm in get a delivery mode.... and they charge the same delivery fee that you do 15 miles further away. Nice to know that you would do a 2 pair if I ask nicely. I think that's what I may do.
