Having the Worst Luck Trying to Get a Pellet BOiler Installer

The dealer recomended someone but they said they would charge 4000. Ive tried a few local guys and one said he would need to see a manual and would talk to the dealer and get back to me, others havent returned call

Trying to get a quote so i can obtain fincancing for the harman boiler plus install.

The joys of living in rural area i guess.
 
Ever considered a mini-split they work to about -5 and a free standing pellet stove. For that amount of coin that boiler better talk to you when you walk by.
 
4k install isn't off, especially if they are demoing old one / if it includes piping and peripherals ~ Based on oil boiler re-install prices I've seen.

Layout does play a big part.
 
I am in Downeast Maine. Well i talked to another dealer that installs them of course they dont cover my area but they said they could of done it, stove, bulk hopper and instal for right around 10k

Basically i have a spot for it right beside my oil boiler

Im looking at the Harman Pb105 which runs around 7200 here.
 
I can't recommend the guy that installed my PB105 because he turned out to be a psycho and is no longer around.
Have you checked out the Kedel? I'd rather have one of those at home instead of my PB105 because it's self cleaning and self scaling (for when I use it for hot water in the summer) and more efficient.

Sorry to hear you are having such a time finding an installer. Feel Free to give me at call at our store and I may be able to help you coordinate with one of the local guys down in your neck of the woods. Sometimes it helps to grease the wheels a bit if we offer to work jointly with them on the install.

i talked to the ellswort location about it, they recomended a installer in bucksport, but he quoted 4000 for instal, which i thought was quite expensive according to what i have heard from others. I called the dealer in Baileyville and they said it would cost around 100 for unit hopper if i wanted it and instal, but they doont come to my area. lol just my luck

I am trying local plumbing and heating guys in the area, i gave him the instruction manual t othe boiler that i found online and the phone number to the ellsworth location. HE was supposed to talk to them and get a quote together.

i thought about Kedel, but their dealer is in Portland a ways away from me. And i believe the cost can get quite pricey

Sinnian is absolutely correct. To install central heating units here in Maine the installed must hold a State of Maine Oil Burner License with a solid fuel endorsement. Interestingly it is not possible to get a sold fuel license for central heating without the oil burner license. This is a great example of the oil companies lobbyists at work in Agusta. Control who has the licences....control how hard it is to find an alternative way to heat.

In Mass I can install with my solid fuel license,but in RI you need a master mechanical and master plumbing
