Had a load of logs delivered to the house yesterday, First time since we moved to the new place 3 years ago that I have had to buy wood but I haven't had time to get into our wood lot lately and this should speed up things and get us a year ahead again. Nice stuff mostly hard maple not huge stuff either, so I will be starting on 2014-15 wood supply today, Pics to follow!

Nothing' wrong with a log load if it it helps get you ahead. I had to buy wood a couple of times. But, oops ....urgghh having confessed that, does this disqualify me from my CORD-HOARDER status in Scotty's club? Sure hope not....

Here are the photos promised, I cut and split a face cord or so last night after work, hope to have it all done by the end of August, this is 1/2 the load, the other half is over at my neighbors, we help each other out so we decided to split this load of logs to get us both ahead a year or so. The last one has my helper Cody resting after helping me stack the fresh split wood 20130816_185727.jpg

Looks like some was standing dead and some ash also. You ought to be in shape for 14-15, might not be as dry as it can get but it should be serviceable.

Is that tree service or logger harvested wood?

Not at all Gark....you're a longstanding member, besides, it don't matter how we get our wood.....so long as it's split and stacked before we update our statuses....

Seems to be really good wood, Mostly maple, but there are a few ash and cherry logs mixed in there, Came from a logger that is cleaning up a blow down/Tornado site from over a year ago. This should be plenty seasoned in 15 months in IMHO:rolleyes: . The maple that I will be burning this year has been stacked since last May/June 2012 so I am sure that we will be fine with that, Just for my information cause I have only been burning about 5 years or so- how long do you season your wood Mr. Bunion? Isn't a year or more good for ash cherry and maple?? We have some oak stacks going on 2 years that we will be using come Feb when it really gets cold.
