Hi all, I know this has probably been covered two millions times, but I am new here and new to pellet stoves! We have a small, well insulated house with new windows, and electric heat-ouch. Main room is 20x25 with sloping 20 ft ceiling and ceiling fan. Short(5ft.) hallway to 2 bedrooms, each approx. 14x12. Looking to heat main room and preferably both bedrooms. I really like the look of the Enviro mini-great reviews and built in hearth pad. Also considering the Harman P38. Obviously I am looking for the most efficient heat at the best cost. Thank you all for all information...this is the best website out there!

Welcome to the forum. You're incorrect, though.....it's been covered at least 5 million times ;lol

Seriously though, the Enviro Mini is a great choice. Good friend of mine had one and loved it.

But you need to come up with a budget first. Stove, piping, installation, pellets, etc.

Floor plan to figure out the best placement for heat distribution and exhausting of stove.

The P series is pretty stupid proof, and easy to maintain (Huge ash can / open cleaning areas). Main reasons I got one. Also Harmans retain resale value quite well.

I can't comment on the enviro.

Hello

They are both good stoves.

The Enviro Mini that I worked on, had the vacuum hose barb bolted to a location on the exhaust plenum that easily gets clogged. After cleaning the stove I could not get it to start up until I cleaned the barb with a pipe cleaner to get the ash out. :)
The Mini is auto light an.
d works well with a T-Stat that has a "Swing Setting" made for wood pellets stoves.

The Harman P-38 like all their P series stoves is a great heater where the sides and top get really hot like a wood stove. So you have to be more careful if there are young children around.
The P38 plus is a manual start stove that you must use starting gel and a match to start.
Get a P-43 if you want an auto light Harman wood pellet stove.

Harmans have a nice temp dial setting on the side of the stove but also work with remote T-Stats with the "Swing Setting"

I like the Ecobee WiFi Internet T-Stat with the free downloadable Smart Phone App for most smart phones.

We shopped around today and had extensive conversation with dealer. Looks like we are going to jump right in with the Harman Accentra. I like the P43, but with a 3y.o. around, I worry about the outside getting too hot. Would love to hear your thought on this model. Also, we were hoping to install in corner, but window curtains would be in vicinity. Do I need 6 inches of clearance.....or more? Installers will be coming down Monday to look and discuss location, but of course I want to know more before then. Thanks all!

I am a big fan of the Accentra. Its is a nice looking and well performing stove. Good choice.

Read the manual its available at their site for sure! 6" isn't much room for error with the P-series.

Accentras ~ Someone else can chime in how hot they get to touch / burning.

Thanks all! I'm really getting excited to start this venture. We will see what the installers recommend tomorrow, but now thinking against the corner installation....too close for comfort to 'stuff.' We can install in family room with stove facing hallway, so will have better heating of back bedrooms. Currently have a nice table with t.v. and accessories there. Probably time to wall mount the plasma anyway! Now, OAK- yes or no?

.......OAK- yes or no?

Yes. There is no downside to installing one. Can only help the stove burn. Plus, you are using outdoor air for combustion, not heated air from inside the house that you already paid to heat....why use it for combustion and send it out the exhaust pipe?
