Wow! MN that's some fine ash there. Straight and looks easy to get to. Nice score. Good luck processing that. Still a lot of work for you but well worth it.

Should get you stocked up & several years ahead.

Ash is some fine wood... Are you in Mn? Did the Borer hit there pretty hard?

Here in Ohio, it is bad. Very bad... :( Makes for good firewood and lots of it. But the landscape around us looks terrible because of it.

Avg 6 trees per day, yes lots of them are straight and all are dead by pond on right side. no EAB this time, they hired me to cut all even supply me bar oil, pre mix and sharp chains so cant complain!

Yes, Minnesota. Agree abt landscape, He knew they will die more next year.

I'm a tree surgeon myself......and I look forward to seeing those big oaks. I have a big chestnut oak to tackle on Saturday.......I'll get plenty of pictures.......

Some of my favorite jobs are those trees over 40" diameter and big-n-tall........lots of hard work that makes you use both brains and brawn.

BTW nice cache of ash there......you saving it for yourself or is it going somewhere else?

MNtrees, that looks to be some mighty fine cutting. It is super sweet that you have no underbrush to curse at as there is nothing in your way. Enjoy the cutting! We've cut down more than that already and have plenty to go yet. Yes, it is a sad state of affairs. I hate it and hate is a word I don't like using.

I'd be wishing I had a feller/buncher if I were you....

I've got half a dozen ash to drop in my yard... They are shading my fruit trees and I want to add a few peach trees..... AND... the EAB is less than 60 miles away... so it's literally just a matter of time for the ash anyways... now if I could just kill the bamboo....

Very cool you have access to all that ash ,very sad deal with the ash but, it is what it is , heated last year mostly ash, and will again this year

Give u the idea that lots of ash trees are dying. Sorry for the poor picture!

Lots of ash here as well. We are getting hit by the borer. I have about 10 trees that my neighbor told me I could take, but they are all widowmakers.

My big concern is the asian long horned beetle. Damn thing likes hardwood trees, with maples being one of it's favorites. We have over 3000 sugar/black maples, interspersed with Ash, Cherry, and Oak. Not good.

For sure when they are all gone it makes the woods look a bit naked. I've been watching ours for over 10 years of the EAB now and it still bothers me. But on the good side, we do have a lot of nice firewood.

Nice to have such an abundance in one spot MN! Your gonna love this.

Loaded more Ash trees today from my OTHER friend's place. They said I have til March 2014 to take as many trees as I want! I have been cut down trees almost every weekends!
